I'm sorry if there is a similiar thread!! Is MVMCP worth it? We're making our first December trip. I'm on the fence with MVMCP. DD is 6 and I'm sure she'd love it. I just can't decide! Fortunately, money isn't a factor in this decision. What can we expect? Is it usually horribly crowded? I really appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!!!

I am going in Nov/Dec and am doing my first ever MVMCP as well, so would be curious to know about the crowd levels. I have been a couple of times in Dec, but never attended the party. I am super excited, just to experience something new while I am there. I think you should go for it, especially if money is not a problem!

We went last year, Dec 18th I think? It was a very crowded night and for us...AP holders who can go for free any other time, we thought it wasn't worth the extra money.

That said, many people feel diferently, and return every year. So, you may love it.

oh yeah, definetly worth it.
I went last year and am going again this year and we rode absolutely EVERYTHING we wanted to and saw the parade. The atmosphere is just amazing.

I think it's worth it, the ten of us going from the 9th to the 16th are going to do it on the 12th. We've done it before, but the rest of the group hasn't. I think everyone should do things like this once. If you like it great, if not you know how you personally feel and you won't make the mistake again. I say try anything once! :)

Go for it. We have been several times and always enjoy it. The snow on Main St. is magical and the atmosphere is wonderful. Have a good time.

If the money isn't an issue and you're a big Christmas fan, I'd encourage you to go. It's a special atmosphere, you can take your pick of special things to do (see the special shows, the special characters, see the parade, take in the rides -- whatever mix of activities you'll most enjoy), and to us it was enjoyable enough that we're going to WDW again this Dec. and will again attend MVMCP. If you go with reasonable expectations (we'll have fun and it will be different from any other night in MK) then I think you'll be delighted.

If you are going to ride the rides, then it's probably worth it. We didn't have to wait for anything (except Peter Pan and Pooh) and got to stay on BTMR 4 times without getting off.

If you want to see the shows, skip it! The shows and parades are CRAZY crowded. We had to get to the one show 1 1/2 hours ahead and still sat in the back row and had to hold our DD7 on our laps so everyone could squeeze in at the last minute. It was ALOT of waiting around for things to start. We are skipping it this year. It wasn't worth it for us and WAY too crowded for my taste. We went to MK the day before and did SO MUCH more that day than the day of the party.

We live a few hours away and have been to Disney too many times to count. Anymore we usually only make it up there for a long weekend around the Holidays. It's getting too expensive otherwise.

We go to MVMCP because for a couple of reasons. First we like to go at night and during the holidays so this way we can combine both in one visit. Second is that we can spend almost 8 hours in the park for less than $50 per person (4 p.m. - midnight).

We usually drive up the night before, usually Wednesday after work. We spend Thursday touring the other resorts before heading to MVMCP around 4:00 p.m. On Friday we use 1 day of a hopper pass and go to one of the other parks for a few hours but always end up at EPCOT late afternoon for the rest of the night.

We spend Saturday around the Orlando area usually Christmas shopping and always stop at DTD on the way home.

That's usually enough to hold us over for another year. The party really works well for us.

enjoy,
Duane

I haven't missed one since they started and always look forward to them. One hint is to try and avoid the ones on Fridays and the weekends, since that is when the locals will most likely attend, I have been to many on Thursday nights and the crowds were minimal. The MK truely is beautiful at night with all the lights and all the special things going on. Try it you will like it!

I would definitely suggest it! I have been every year for 7 years and would not miss it! I have done it twice per trip the past few years! You get to experience the extra special Christmas Disney things on the party nights. Snow on mainstreet, hot cocoa and cookies, special fireworks, less wait time, characters in christmas costumes with less wait, special christmas parade, free picture, free button, ability to purchase MVMCP items exclusive to party goers, and less wait on the rides. I will agree the shows are crowded but I did not find them any more crowded than normal. If you go on tuesday or thursday night then the crowds are minimal and it seems you are almost in the park alone. Keep in mind I would suggest you love Christmas to pay the extra money. But, the past poster is right....you can get in at 4pm and can stay til 1am for less than $50 which is less than a one day ticket, plus you get less crowds and the extras! We are going Dec 15th and the 19th this year! YEAH! Hope you have fun!

I am going on December 21 for my first time ever! From ewhat I hear,it's really fun and that it was better then Mickey'sNot So Scary Halloween Party ifyou went..I hope you have fun if you do decide to go!
Someof the feature's that come with the party are:
Limited Edition Party Souvieners
Snow on Main Street
Hot Chocolate and Cookies
Parade/Fireworks/Shows that are shown only at the parties
The party is from 7:30PM until Midnight but you can get in starting at 4:30 I think.

:cheer2:

Thanks!!! I really, really appreciate your responses! I'm going to go for it. Who knows when we'll be back at this time of year and I absolutely love Christmas! The snow on Main Street alone sounds incredible. Thanks again, everyone. You were all big helps!
