My family will be going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year for the first time. I found a schedule of the events from last year on allearsnet and it seems very overwhelming. Does any one have a touring plan just for that event so we can get in as much as possible. Riding rides is not important durning this time only all the shows and parades. I also tried to find where the Galaxy Palace Theater is on a park map but cant seem to find it. We will be traveling with 6 adults and 2 children 10 &7. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

The theater is right next to the exit of buzz lightyear.

It seems overwhelming but it is really doable especially if you don't do lots of rides. We have enjoyed the past 2 times we have attended and can't wait to do it this year again.

Ummm...we skipped the free photo (It was at other end of the park, and it just isn't worth an hour of my Disney time to wait for a picture), but we were able to go on most of the rides, we got cookies at several locations, and I think we saw most of the shows, including the fireworks.

Maybe it helped that we went in November. It also helped that we didn't do any other parks that day (just some shopping), we got there early (5pm), we had a snack before we went, and we had a light meal/snack around 8pm at Starlight Ray's (instead of a timeconsuming sit down dinner).

It probably also helps that we're pretty quick walkers. I don't mow people down or anything, but we also try to focus our stops. We know the layout of the park pretty well so, like, if I see a long line at a bathroom, I'll skip it and stop at the next one. We also have a rule that if one person goes to the bathroom, we all try to go. That sort of thing. If one person wants ice cream, we try to get snacks at the same time.
One rookie mistake is going to the bathroom right after exiting a show - like hitting the bathrooms just outside of the MGM Stunt Show. If you walk an extra 20 feet, you'll come to another bathroom with no line, and you'll be done in half the time.

So it's totally doable. The ride lines are really what slow people down at the parks. That was one of the things that made MVMCP great!

Also, it helps to do things while you're in line. Like if you want to put chapstick on or something...and you have to dig through your pocketbook to find it. Ask yourself, "Is this something I can do while I'm in line?"

i still remeber our itinerary from last year  we got to the park before the party started and had dinner (you can stay in there, they just make you stay in tommoroland till it officially starts). then went to the galaxy palace theatre to get our seats for the first show of mickey's twas the night before christmas. we then went to catch the first show of belles enchanted christmas. after that we went to frontierland to get our spots for the parade. we then walked over to the area near caseys corner to see wishes. then after wishes walked a little closer to the castle for the 10:00 show on the castle stage. by this point there was little to no line for the pictures, so we had it taken. then spent the rest of the time walking around and looking at everything. rode some rides and got the cookies and cocoa. the one thing is you could not get near santa claus, you could waste alot of time on his line. but there were plenty of other characters around the park dressed in their holiday outfits that are out during the day, so we didn't stop to see them either. it was a long night but we got to do and see everything and had a REALLY good time !!

Will I get an intinerary with the tickets? Will the tickets come in the mail or will we need to pick them up at Disney? Thank you for the ideas it does make planning a little easier.

There will be party maps upon entering the park for the party.

When you buy the tickets you can have them delivered for $3 or pick them up at Disney.

Last year's party was the first time I was organzied and fit in all the Christmas festivities.

First we ate at the castle while the park was closed. We got out about 6:45p and my girls got to ride the carousel and dumbo ALONE as Fantasyland was still closed.

Then we headed to one of the only 2 free photo locations, in Tomorrowland. We got the photo over with while we still looked fresh.

Then we rode Buzz and DH got in the Twas the Night Before Christmas line. We saw the show. Then we headed to Toontown and did both Mickey and Minnies houses and rode Barnstormer.

Then I think it was about time to see the 9:15p fireworks. Then we stayed right where we were for the next showing of the Castle show (10:00p).

While we watched the show, DH went and got a spot on Main Street for the second parade. While we were waiting for the parade, I went and got us hot choc and cookies right by the Noodle station.

We did everything we wanted to do.

Then we left.

I would say that, just as with a day at the parks, it isn't really about "doing everything;" it's about figuring out and doing everything that you want to do.

We went to MVMCP last year. We had a 5:00 dinner ADR at LTT. We then got our family photo right away with only about a 5 minute wait, then we focused on riding re-riding our favorite rides and hit up a few of the special character opportunities as we came across them. We staked out a front row space and waited for the first parade, and I made a point to hit a gift shop for some special party merchandise (that's only available during the party, and yes these are indicated on the party map that you get at the park -- they do not send it out with the tickets). We saw a bit of the fireworks but really focused on rides.

What we'll do differently this year is have dinner even earlier at a CS place in the park (there might then be a chance that we'll have room to try some cocoa and cookies!). We'll wait to see the second parade and we won't waste much time in terms of getting the perfect viewing spot -- 15 minutes ahead of time we'll take the best that we can get. We may see one show (but my sense is that DS, 8, will make his usual decision against it), we'll focus on all the walk-on opportunites for rides, we'll get a family photo and we'll catch whichever special character opportunities that we can. We'll definitely do the fireworks show. We'll have slept in the morning of the party so we have the energy to make it through until later in the night. And that will delightfully constitute "everything" that's important to us!

Does the party ticket include admission for that time in MK, or do you need separate admission tickets?

Party ticket alone gets you in officially at 7:00p and unofficially (since 2001) after 4:00p.
