It seems as though there is a lot to do at the mvmcp. More than we could do in one night. So are we crazy for thinking of doing the party two nights? Have you done this? What was your strategy? We want to do as many of the special characters, shows and rides as possible. Thanks :)

We always do 2 parties. I enjoy myself a lot more knowing I have time to do it all without stressing about it. The first night we try to hit all the characters we want most. The second night we hit a couple characters then focus on shows, parade and fireworks.

Thanks! We were worried about that stress! We'd like to minimize it, especially with a 7 and 3 yo. Sounds like a solid plan :)

I've done multiple parties during trips in the past. But those days are over for me.

Honestly I would spend the money in some other experience and only do the party once per trip. We been to multiple parties and while we did enjoy it I think there are better way to spend the money than repeat the same experience.

I was very successful with going as early as possible in the trip and then if we wanted or needed another night we purchased another ticket and went again. Be careful with the first and last dates, they sell out quick but other parties generally there is tickets until the night before you can get from the resort or just order online.

Do disney the way you like it, there is a lot of characters out that you don't always get to see.

We're thinking of doing 2 as well. ::yes:: My DD wants to meet all the princesses with their princes, seven dwarfs and the Pooh gang and DS wants to meet Sandy Claws, the Ducks(Scrooge, Donald,Daisy) and Jack (POTC). Of course, I want to see the parade and FW and castle show. So I don't think there's any way to do all that without running around frantically in one party.:scared:

If you want to meet a lot of characters it may be worthwhile to do the party twice. We did the Halloween party this last fall and the five hours just flew by -- we did ride a decent number of rides (short lines!), saw all the shows, and caught the second parade, but we didn't meet a single character. It really didn't feel like we could have done everything in one night.

If you're not aiming for a peak week, I like the advice to buy a party ticket for early in your stay and wait and decide if you want to buy one for a second evening after you've had a taste of it. There's the risk of not getting the second party, but you'd be better able to judge whether there was a need to do it.

I did 3 Halloween parties and 3 Christmas parties last year. Was awesome! I did everything.

Characters have always been a priority for DD. As such, we have found that it was worth it for us to do 2 parties (and I have to admit that we have on occasion done 3- especially with MNSSHP which we find to be the better party of the 2). For us it has been nice to concentrate primarily on characters one night, and then pick up the characters we missed and do the parades, shows and other activities another night. It definitely reduces our stress level and lets us enjoy ourselves more since we aren't constantly worried about how to fit it all in. Usually, there are a couple of characters that have long lines all night (for example Jack Skellington and the 7 Dwarves)- those are the ones it can be good to get in line for around 5:30 to avoid spending an hour or more of valuable party time doing those (the past 2 years a MNSSHP, Jack and Sally have been coming out well before party start). It definitely helps to be able to split those to 2 nights. We have never regretted spending going to more than one MVMCP or MNSSHP during our vacation.

We only did one party on our trip in November but I wish I'd done 2. There was so much we missed! Next time we'll do 2 for sure.

We always do two parties, one near the start & one near the end of our stay, coming from the UK we tend to stay for two weeks.
There is a lot to see & do so knowing that you don't have to cram everything in to one night allows for a more enjoyable experience.

Wow. Great minds think alike! ;)
Lots of great tips, it really sounds like we were justified in our concern of being able to accomplish our must do's!
