We have tickets to MVMCP on December 11th, my son's 10th birthday. He said he wanted to eat at Le Cellier for dinner, so we made ADRs for that night, the earliest we could get was 4:20pm. Is that going to be crazy to be eating in Epcot then getting out to the monorails and getting over to the TTC, then taking the express monorail over to MK?

For those who have BTDT, would we be better off eating inside the MK or at a monorail resort?

I talked to him more about it today and he is really not into having a character dinner at all so that cuts out CP & LTT, along with Chef Mickey's & 1900 Park Fare.

Has anyone really enjoyed dinner at Tony's or the Plaza? Both have ADRs for that night....

Le Cellier is a very leasurely meal and will take a good 2 hours so I'd do it another night and either eat in the park or at one of the monorail resorts.

I've eaten at Chef Mickey's, CP, the Castle, LTT and Tony's all before parties and enjoyed them all. I had a steak at Tony's. We're going to eat there again this October before the MNSSHP.

I don't know a lot about the Plaza restaurant as their menu has never appealed to me.

Concorse Steakhouse might be a good choice for dinner or maybe Ohana's or Kona cafe.

Good luck deciding.

That would be very easy to do. Just have your dinner at Le Cellier and than hop on the monerai; to the MK. You will have to transfer to monerails at the Ticket & Transportation center. We are doing MVMCP the same night and eating before at LTT. Have fun and enjoy Le Cellier and MVMCP. Le Cellier is one of our favorite places to eat at WDW. :)

You could also try Citrico's or Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian... I prefer Citrico's for a great meal, then you could just hop the monorail and get to the MK for MVMCP. Both restaurants at the Poly are good too or maybe eat at California Grille at the top of Contemporary or the other Contemporary Restaurants.. I agree why rush the meal, make it easy on yourself and try a restaurant closer.

I would check on Kona Cafe or Ohana. We ate at Kona last year, and are doing the same this year. We had the earliest reservation (5pm I believe) and made it to MK at a great time. Have fun!

To be quite honest, I think thats cutting it real close. Reason I say this- Every year me and my Dtwin go to MNSSHP, we make ressies for Cali Grill (which is right on the monorail track) for the earliest we can (5:30pm) and we still end up getting to the party late...and that's with a restaurant right on the monorail track! More than likely, you're not gonna be seated at exactly 4:30 and Le Cellier is an upper scale restaurant where the food may take long to come out because it's that type of an experience. And then forget about having to wait for a bus! If I were you, promise your son for his b-day that you can go the night before or the night after his b-day, when you have a little more time to enjoy your meal. Good luck with whatever you choose and may your son have a happy b-day!

Thanks for the replies!

I just thought of another option, we could eat at Le Cellier for lunch as a TS credit and then do a CS in MK later for dinner.

beattyfamily--I agree, after looking at the Plaza menu, it doesn't appeal to me nearly as much as Tony's. Perhaps I'll book Tony's to make sure I can get a decent time and then run the options past the guys!

Oh, sorry, also wanted to add that Ohana would be a good choice, but when I wanted to make ADRs for there for this past trip, I was told that they may/may not be able to accomodate my food allergies (eggs, nuts (tree & peanuts), pineapple, oysters, mussels & bananas). I don't know about Kona but I'm going to think about that one as well. We ate there once about 3 years ago and I liked the food but didn't know I had food allergies at that point & was really sick after the meal.

If your ressie is for 4:20 you should make it to the party right on time. If I remember correct the event starts at 7pm and even if you have a 2 hour dinner with kids (which is unlikely) you should still have plenty of time to ride the monorail switch and still get tot he park at 7:15 at the latest. Whenever we have gone to Le Cellier (a lot) we have never been there for 2 hours and that is with a party of 6. Take your time and eat slow. Enjoy the birthday and then the party. Why hurry it's Dinsney and you still have 5 more hours of small crowds. :dance3:

Well, I took everyone's advice into consideration & figured that we might not want to rush anything, especially on my little guy's "big day". I booked Tony's for 5PM on 12/11 so we'll be finished in time for the big party-yeah!

Thanks again for all the opinions!

Why not celebrate his meal at Le Cellier at lunch time instead of dinner.

One last opinion---we are doing LTT even though characters aren't a draw for us. The ones at LTT are fun and not embarrassing for a grown 10 yr old and we really like the food and atmosphere.

Thanks, with his form of autism he is sometimes bothered by characters close up, other times it isn't an issue, so I typically stay away from them. It was something we considered, but I got the ADR at Tony's so we are going to have dinner there at 5. I had also thought about lunch at Le Cellier but we are going to try to do that for our Candlelight Processionial Dinner, when they come available!

That's exactly what DD and I did when we went to MVMCP :thumbsup2

We really enjoy eating at Tony's... good food, nice place. It made for a very relaxing meal :goodvibes and I think we enjoyed the party more knowing we didn't need to rush through dinner.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time! :tink:
