MVMCP Dinner Ideas?

We've been thinking about doing Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner before the Christmas Party starts. This is our first year going to the party. Is this the most Christmas-y dinner idea there or any other good suggestions for a festive meal?

We will be at 1900 PF for dinner before MVMCP, really only because it is close, we have dinner there every trip and I already have CP and CRT at MK on other days.

We're eating at Artist Point (WL) before MVMCP. I've heard that the resort decorations are the "most Christmas-y" and this is a good way to check them out.

We are having dinner at CRT before our MVMCP. We wanted to have breakfast there but couldn't get an ADR, but was able to nab one for dinner.

We're eating at Kona before our party. Will have been in MK all day, so this is a way to take a break from the park and it's close.

We are doing LTT. We tried for Whispering Canyon, but never got a time I was really happy with. In trying to search for a better time, LTT came up as an alternative one day. I took it. They must have had cancellations.

We are at "The Crystal Palace" before "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party." We are staying at "The Beach Club."
The Monorail "loop", runs from the "TTC" to "The Polynesian", "The Grand Floridian", "The Magic Kingdom", "The Contemporary", and then back to the "Transportation and Ticket Center."
Over the years, the "game-plan" has always been to do one of two things:
Find a restaurant within "The Macic Kingdom" and book it for dinner, just prior to the start of "MVMCP" or find a restaurant at either "The Poly" or "The GF."
Genreally speaking IMO, the following restaurants would be your option(s):
Inside - "Liberty Tree Tavern", "The Crystal Palace", "Tony's Town Square", and, of course, "CRT" (Cinderella's Royal Table").
Outside - "Grand Floridian Cafe'", "1900 Park Fare", "Citrico's", "Narcoossee's", "Kona Cafe'", "Ohana", "Chef Mickey's", "The Wave" and "Californnia Grill".
My logic - I rule out "The Contemporary" restaurants because of the Monorail loop (but you can actually walk to the MK - it's about three city blocks) and "Citrico's", "Narcoossee's" and "Ohana" are ruled out because they are places that I would want to sit and enjoy the food and take my time... and next I rule out food that probably won't sit well for all the activity of "MVMCP", so there goes "CRT" and "Tony's".... I really like "Kona", but my wife wanted choices this time, which means a buffet, so we ended up going with "The C.P." Of course - one more "monkey wrench" could be availability for the time that you want.... We were fortunate and got the time that we wanted, so for us, it's "The Crystal Palace" at 5:10pm, and then we'll stick around for "The Party". I hope this isn't too long and it helps you.

We usually go to CP for the last seating open before the park closes but this year we are going to Tony's instead...we really enjoy the food there alot. I was thinking of the Wave but that takes 2 hours to get through and I dont want to waste time...Tonys we can be in and out in under an hour.

I would only go to a MK resort restaurant if there was nothing else available in MK

One more thing.... You were requesting a "festive" restaurant.... All of the "Resorts" will have their "Christmas Decorations" up, and as far as I can recall, most of the restaurants "inside" will have "limited" decorations up also.... With that being said, I do not know of any of the restaurants I've mentioned that have a "specifically festive" menu that they offer....
I do know that, years ago, there was a "dinner-show package" offered at "The Contemporary", but I have no idea if it is still offered or not. It was very nice, but time-consuming... and the kids just wanted to get to "The Party".... We did it the very first year that MVMCP was offered - so you can see just how long ago that was...!

If you follow "MickeyNicki's posts", you'll know that we are talking about a person that knows all about "WDW Restaurants and food" ! :thumbsup2 This is one person that I'd take seriously when it comes to suggestions and recommendations ! :worship:

This year we are doing LTT before the party, we usually just do a counter service but my kids wanted the turkey dinner so LTT it is. I think is it just so festive to be inthe park is doens't matter to me where I eat.

I love the food and service at LTT, you won't be dissapointed. We eat there almost every trip. They don't have the characters anymore but still worth it to my family.

I second that, MickeyNicki has helped me many times in figuring out which restaurants that we should try on our trips. Thanks MickeyNickey, you are our hero :goodvibes :thumbsup2

We want to enjoy MVMCP as much as possible, so we're doing a late lunch (2:20 pm) at Whispering Canyon Cafe & taking the ferry from WL to make it to MK around 4 pm. The Wilderness Lodge has some of the most beautiful Christmas decorations in WDW & the restaurant overlooks the festive lobby. (We actually plan on spending most of the day there b/c we're also getting massages at WL's spa around noon & using their spa facilities to get ready for lunch & MVMCP.)

We're going to CRT @ 4:15pm. We are not going to use our Park Hoppers for the day. So, we are gonna enter MK @ 4:00p w/ our MVMCP tix. Go right to the Castle. Have dinner, then enjoy the party til Midnight!

We are having a 10:30 breakfast at Kona's and then a 4:15 supper at the Plaza on our MVMCP day. Sounds yummy doesn't it?
