Never again. I feel like it was a waste of money people were everywhere you could not get to the parade and I was there for both parades. No good spots anywhere to be found. The ride lines were so long. I never saw any snow or hot coco. I felt like a herd of animals and disneys way of getting more of our money by making it seem like you are missing out on something. Never again will I go to a hard ticket event.

I did have a good time had lunch at crystal palace. It was wonderful. I always try to find some good in everything. Crowds were heavy this week. Next year I will plan a slower week hopefully.

Wow, I'm sorry. We were there on the 2nd and had a wonderful time. The crowds around the castle were heavy but we were able to walk on all the rides. We got to the castle at 9 for the fireworks, the 10:05 castle show and turned around and sat down where we stood for the parade. I hope you have a better time next year!

Sorry you had a bad time Shannon.
I'm right there with ya!
Never again. There will be no next year.
Call me bah humbug if you want. Not worth the extra hard-earned $$.

We went on the 2nd and the crowds were very manageable, with front row seats easy to get for the early parade.

I was SHOCKED to see that the party on the 4th was sold-out. I am not sure why it was sold out so early in the season unless Pop Warner contributed to the crowds but I was very happy that we had chosen the party on the 2nd.

Sorry you had such a bad experience.

went last year and never again. my biggest beef is the way they handle the wristbands. many people stay in the park and watch the parades and even got into shows without the cm's checking the bands. at the cookies and hot choc booths they also were not checking. i do believe they are strict at the rides though. i have heard that some nights they are very strict so maybe it's a hit or miss thing

as my wife and daughter were waiting for the parade to begin we heard a father laugh and say "see all these people. they paid to see this parade while we see it for free". nice message to send his kids but he was right. no way were the cm's checking bands at the parades and shows so the people who stay in the park get to see something for free while i paid extra. they have to go back to the old method of clearing out the park then admitting the mvmcp guests.

maybe i'm being a scrooge but i do believe it's not fair to the paying guests that these people get to see things for free. a better method is in need

I don't think you're being a Scrooge. You paid $50 a ticket to what is supposed to be a special event with limited attendance. If Disney can't effectively clear out the non-paying guests than I can understand how you would feel cheated.

I feel badly for the CMs. They must get tired of being verbally abused by people they have to ask to leave. I can see why they might give up and not care anymore.

yes i know their task is a difficult one and i in no way am putting any blame on the cm's. the people should not abuse them but rather write disney as i did and explain that a new system is needed. disney did get back and said they thanked me for my input

We did MVMCP on the 2nd and found it VERY managable! However, we too noticed that there were MANY people floating around w/out wristbands on! We saw them enforcing it at some rides but other than that, it didn't seem to cause a problem.

DH and I did the party mainly for riding the rides w/no wait. We rode EVERYTHING and waited in line once: for Peter Pan of all things! We had no problem finding spots for the fireworks right up by the castle, then scooted back to Frontierland for the last parade and SplMt, BTMRR. I got a front row seat, DH didn't want to sit on the ground so he copped a bench in front of the Country Bear Jamboree and no one obstructed his view!!! We're not parade people but if we were, that would be our viewing spot from now on!

Cocoa was ok but seeing as how it was 80 degrees at 8 PM, kind of unnecessary.....:-)

Isn't it interesting how Disney can offer the same experience and its guests can have two completely different opinions???

Cocoa was ok but seeing as how it was 80 degrees at 8 PM, kind of unnecessary.....:-) No one was lining up for that....And I was disapointed in the snow on Main Street. I thought the snow at the Osbourne Lights was much better. Also, wasn't Holiday Wishes supposed to be a 360 show? It wasn't that night and we couldn't figure out why. It wasn't windy at all....

thats really weird that you say that b/c we went last yr also but there were check points that you couldn't make past unless you showed the cm's your wrist bands...wonder why that didn't happen the day you were in attendance. your not a scrooge i understand ur point:)

We were there both the 2nd and the 4th. I don't know if I'll do it again next year either. It was incredibly crowded....not worth $50 extra.

We did it back in 2002 and it was SO much better. The crowds were probably half what they were this time around.

This year was my year to do the things I never could before. I have always worked hard at low paying jobs until I went to the local community college and took some classes. I was able to get a better job and have better things. It was my dream to stay onsite which I did at the all star movies It was wonderful. It has also been my dream to attend the MVMCP I always felt left out because I could not afford it. Or I was staying offsite and relied on the hotels bus which always had last pick up at 10. P.M. So this year was my year to go to mvmcp. I feel cheated 50 bucks is allot of money no matter what your finances are.
I feel my dreams did come true after going to disney nearly 10 years now. I met ratattoie and he gave me the biggest hug. I bought a video camera and took some wonderful video. I was winner of one of the special edition micky hats the ones that say live your dream on the back. I ate at christal palace and had the best service. I would always pass by there and say someday. I was able to buy silly things like mickey dog and cat bowles. I saw wishes and done allot more things. I will work hard and save hard for next year but I will not be attending MVMCP.

It's a shame some of you had a bad time on the 4th at MVMCP. We had tickets to go but I was ill and a great CM at CSR offered to exchange the tix for another night or refund us. As the next night was the 6th we couldn't do it as that was the day we flew home :sad2: I was so disappointed as although we'd been last year, this was my treat for me and my mum. Reading some of your comments though it looks like it's best we didn't go. Plus I felt a little better later in the evening and we went to Epcot for an hour and although we didn't want to queue for the Candlelight Processional, another very nice CM let us in about 10 minutes into the show so it turned out to be a magical evening!
DisneyShannon - Good on you for achieving your goals!

We went to MNSSHP in October, and although we weren't happy with the park staying open as we entered, October is such a slow time of year it didn't make that big of a difference.

Disney needs to make a huge effort to sort guest in December for MVMCP and it looks like they did it last year and didn't bother this year.

Why?

If they don't have the park sectioned off and check to let people enter sections....then just not letting people on the rides won't make a difference

We also went on the 4th and yes it was very crowded...Talked to another couple at the party and they said it was more crowded for the party than during the day!

We arrived early (4:30pm) and most of the rides had 30 minute plus waits except for Splash Mtn as it was a walk on and they let us ride 3 times in a row without getting off!

By about 8pm most of the other rides were 5 minute waits...The crowds seemed very heavy at the Shows, Main Street, Cookie/Cocoa areas and parade/Castle area.

For us, 7 plus hours in the MK for $40 was still a deal and will go again next year.

:santa:

We also attended on the 4th, and I actually was pleased with the crowds. As we entered on Main St., the CM's were actively checking for the orange wristbands. We headed right over the bridge to Adventure Land, and again had to show our wristbands. Pirates was a walkon, and again, showed our wristbands. That trend continued all night. My sister in law and nephew rode Thunder Mountain 3 times in a row, while I watched the parade from the bridge at Splash mountain with my younger nephew. We watched the fireworks from the exit to Mickey's Philharmagic, not the best viewing spot, but a different perspective. They were going up from all directions! My nephews loved it. I too, was surprised to see that the sign that the party was sold out when we exited, but not for the obvious reasons. I thought the park was empty! Different perspectives I guess.

We were there on the 4th...our first hard ticket event. We had a great time, the kids loved it as well. Sure, it was crowded around the castle area, and we were silly (or stupid!) and did the first castle show. But then we wandered over to the Adventureland and didn't hit much of a crowd until we ended up in Fantasyland to watch the fireworks (thanks to a CM on BTMR who recommended this spot!)

I don't think ride waits were bad. We have a GAC for my son, but I don't think we even needed to use it. (He has autism, wait times in noisy spots can be tough for him...and those around him!)

My favorite thing was the Ugly Stepsister dance party in ariel's grotto area. DH and I thought it was very amusing (the kids not as much, but they were tired!) My husband said it reminded him of me and my sister dancing after a few cocktails. Had I had a few cocktails instead of hot cocoas, I may have joined them!

Our kids enjoyed the "snow", but were upset they missed our first snowfall at home the next day! Overall, all the experiences (Osborne, CP, MVMCP) got us in the holiday spirit.

We were there on the 4th, and some spots were packed and others were OK. The cookie station at the Noodle Station was near chaos - but the Frontierland site was extremely well-coordinated. Long waits to buy anything at the stores on Main Street. Some rides were walk on, and others were very crowded. I am glad that we went, but parts of the park were crazy!

We were there on the 4th also. Loved it! Main Street was crowded. We got about 20 feet from the stage to see the castle lighting show and the fireworks about 20 minutes before with no problem, it filled behind us quickly.Walked right on HM, most of FantasyLand, 10 minute wait for SM and Buzz. We thought it was so crowded between each ride-walkways, people just standing in the way, doing nothing, but the lines were short. Longest line was to eat! We were asked one time to show our wrist band by tomorrowland, I believe and then once in Pinochio's . We asked where the nearest restroom was and he said we could only go if we had a wristband and he was totally serious! We had a great time and enjoyed the hot chocolate, it was pretty cold at the end of the evening. I am so sorry that you didn't enjoy it, it was more crowded than I had thought it would be-the whole week was!

I was there on the 4th too! OH MY GOSH it was awlful you could not move we waited in lines for over an hour to see characters just to get up there and the one you really wanted would go in. You could'nt watch the parade for so many people it was the worst thing I have ever done I was so disappointed I looked forward to it for 6 months this was my first and my last it was nothing like I had expected maybe my expectations were too high but truly it was that way all week for us rides were packed character lines were long and CM were RUDE! not the Disney I remember.:sad2: :sad1:
