If I buy 2 tickets for a particular night using my AP discount does the other person also have to have an AP or am I entitled to buy a certain number of tickets with my pass alone? Thanks!

You can get one for the AP and multiple guests at the discount. Not sure what the max is, but 2 is fine.

You'll be fine. An annual passholder can buy up to 4 tickets.
