MVMCP and quick service meal

So I know I am under 180 days for my trip in Dec and I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with some of the meal reservations. I know I am behind schedule.

Today I figured I would try and get a place while we are at the christmas party and where I want to go is full. But what about quick service? Do they tend to stay open past 7 compared to some of the other restaurants that last meal is at 7.

Honestly, I think you're better off this way. You're paying premium $ for that party time, why waste some of it sitting in a restaurant you could go to anytime? I know when I did MNSSHP a few years ago I just grabbed dinner from Cosmic Rays and ate it while I watched the parade!

You do not want to be sitting in a restaurant during your valuable party time. I would recommend grabbing something at counter service before the party starts. After the party starts, only some of the CS places are open, and the lines can be really long. Also, if you want to meet some of the most popular characters, those lines start forming long before the party starts, and if you wait until party time to get in line, then you could be spending a great deal of party time just standing in line for one character. Last year for MNSSHP, Jack and Sally were a priority for us, so last year we grabbed food from Casey's and then sat on the ground in the line for them and ate it about 5:30. I recall MVMCP a few years back, and Cinderella, the Prince and the Stepsisters and Stepmother were all meeting as a group which was HUGE for DD, so I went and got in line for them before 6 while DD and DH went to Cosmic Rays and grabbed a burger and then they brought something back for me to eat in line. We have also sat down at Cosmic Rays and had a CS dinner at 5 or 5:30, to get in a character line around 6, at MVMCP.

I agree. Have a late lunch and do CS for dinner. There will be a lot of party exclusive treats you can get all night long as well.

We are doing MVMCP for the first time this year, but last year we did MNSSHP and we had a late lunch at the Grand Floridian Café and went over to the party and went in at 4pm. There's so much to do and enjoy that I didn't want to take up time with TS. Plus, it takes me forever to eat, because I have problems with swallowing. Instead of dinner we had snacks. I enjoyed some ice cream, and my friend got funnel cake and some other treats. We don't usually skip a proper meal for treats at home, but it's WDW.

When we attended MVMCP we entered the park around 5:30 and watched the first Castle Lighting show around 6:00. After we decided to grab a quick bite to eat at Cosmic Ray's before the party started. We were finishing up eating when right at 7:00 a stage with an elf DJ rose up from where Sonny Eclipse is to start a dance party. Goofy and Pluto came out and started dancing with the kids. My son loved it. It was a great, fun way to start the party!

We usually eat at Cosmic Rays during the party. It's open pretty late, either 10 or 11, I think. Not all the counter services will be open late, but some certainly will,

It's a cookie stop, so it closes before the party starts at 7:00. I know I grabbed a flatbread from there and then ate it while I waited in line for Rapunzel & Flynn...and I got in line at 6:35 or so.

Thanks! We will eat before party time and we haven't had the new Flatbreads yet.
