Hi,

Thinking of flying in to hit both MVMCP and Jollywood in November. The parties would be on Saturday and Sundays nights.

I’m wondering would it be too busy for the events? We wouldn’t have day tickets, just event tickets, would do the hotels and Disney springs in our other time.

But it is too much money to spend for weekend events, when they will most likely be at capacity.

We’d be interested in the atmosphere, meeting characters and the special shows, probably wouldn’t do many rides.

If I was going for just 2 days, I think going to the parties instead of day tickets would be a good move. Not as much time, but not as crowded. Not sure about Jollywood, but for the Christmas party, you can enter at 4pm.

Jollywood guests can enter at 6:00 p.m.

Last year, DH and I did Jollywood on Saturday night, MVMCP on Sunday night. We thought it was fantastic! We slept in, ate a late lunch by the pool, swam, then showered and got ready all at a leisurely pace. We actually thought it was a lot more enjoyable then doing parks open to close like we usually do.

I did something like this last year - short trip and went to both parties - might have had a day in between. I think it works fine and you can sleep in. Whether it is too much money...well... if you love the parties or really want to see them it makes for a good trip. I wouldn't suggest going to one of the first parties because there always seems to be kinks to work out...unless that's the only time you can travel.

Our MVMCP will be on a Thursday but Jollywood will be on Saturday. I hesitated on the Saturday for just a second because I'm assuming that's a night a lot of locals would choose, but figured will probably be about the same all the nights.

And also thinking locals might be more interested in shows and characters where our focus will be rides first, then specialty foods and atmosphere. :)

If you are not terribly interested in rides and are mostly interested in going to the party-specific shows and events, I think that is a good strategy to make the most out of your event tickets. I think you have a good plan!

For anyone that attended one of these parties in the past: what is the food situation like? I feel like someone had mentioned that most of the actual food vendors are closed for the majority of MVMCP (aside from specialty desserts).

We're waffling between doing one party or the other (so expensive!) and leaning towards JN simply because they have more savory foods, plus more rides we want to go on.

The downside is the JN we'd have to go on a weekend night, and MVMCP we could do on a weeknight.

We’ve done MVMCP and MNSSHP several times and tried JN last year.

For the MK parties after 9pm, it’s basically Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill on opposite ends of the park. For us it was a downside. Don’t like Pecos and while Cosmic is OK it can be a hike. One party we tried to hit Pinocchio’s and was banged up tight right before 9pm official closing time. Not a deal breaker but was something for us to work around each party.

JN was easy in that respect. Pretty much everything was open except Galaxy Edge QS. We never had to go far for food and most places had interesting party menus. Unlike MK it did not feel like a task finding real food.

Under each land you can see all the dining options. The starred ones had special party items.

JN was so MUCH better for variety and convenience. Alcohol and cocktails were a great improvement over MK too.

Here’s MVMCP guide. It’s very limited outside sweets.

Wow, thank you for the detailed explanation! For both parties my thought was that we wouldn't want to really do a TS meal in the park because it would feel like a bit of a waste of time/money when we're really there for the shows and rides.

You’re welcome. I feel the same about TS during a party. Makes MK parties harder because the lack of QS options.

Is this for this year? Is tron sill VQ? When do you need to reserve it in Mde?

These were the guides from last year, 2023. I think it’s likely the parties continue offering the VQ for TRON and RotR. Jollywood Nights is starting an hour earlier so that VQ would probably start an hour earlier as well.

I wasn’t at JN last year, bit I saw lots of reports that the lines for food were crazy long, with no mobile order. Our plan, before hubby broke hip, was to eat before.

We attended later in the season and maybe that helped. We didn’t have issues getting food.

It seems like a lot of people looked at the first night of Jollywood Nights youtube videos and formed opinions, but all reports from the subsequent parties were pretty great! So I'm hopeful they improved even more this year.
