MVMCP is happening only one night during our stay at disney world, the night we arrive. If our flight lands at 4:30pm and we are staying at the contemporary- do you think we should go see it on our first night?? I was planning on taking it easy on our first night there, since we would be at the park early the next morning. We have a 4 and 7 yo FWIW. Please give me your opinion! Is it not to be missed??

If it were me, no, I would not spend that much money for a party I might miss! As is, you are looking at entering right around 6:30-7:00, and that's if everything goes perfectly! What if your plane is delayed? You might miss the whole thing! If your plan was set to arrive in the morning, I might have a different opinion.

My personal opinion is that it will add to your travel day stress having non-refundable tickets for the first night not knowing how tired you will be or whether your flight will be delayed.

We have enjoyed MVMCP a couple of times, but I would do it on travel day. The party is a neat experience, but it wouldn't impact my trip if we didn't go.

No for these reasons: Party guests can start entering the park at 4:00, your flight doesn’t even land until 4:30. Even if it’s on time, by the time you it takes to get off the plane, get your bags, get to the resort, give the little kids time to adjust/go to the restroom, etc, it would be 5:00 at best.
Also, if your flight is delayed for any reason, the tickets are non-refundable and you might lose out on the party.

I would skip it. We went last year and it was so crowded we couldn't enjoy it. I'll say it was much busier than a busy park day. My daughter who was 4 last year didn't even enjoy it because it was so crowded. The parade was amazing, but the rest of the night wasn't worth the money or stress.
