We have a 5:50 ADR at California Grill on the same evening we have purchased tickets for MVMCP (7PM to 12AM).

This being our first time in the World, I'm unsure whether we need to be at MVMCP right at 7 to get in. I'm also unsure when we should expect to be back at MK after our dinner.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Even though the party officially starts at 7:00 pm - they generally allow you to enter the park at 4:00 with just your party ticket. You should make it to the party by 7:00 or 7:30 with your dinner reservations, but you might want to try to get to the party early. When we went two years ago we entered the park at 4:00 and were able to enjoy the park from 4:00 to 6:00. Around 6:00 they start getting the people that are not attending the party out of the park and the party goes are directed to - I believe it was Tomorrow Land. The first showing of Mickey's 'twas the Night Before Christmas was actually at 6:30 I believe in the theater in Tomorrow Land. We then headed over to the castle for the show in front of it and after the show waited on Main Street for the first parade.

I guess it depends on how much time you want to spend in the MK. If you will spending additional time there on other days and just want to enjoy the party that night then I guess you do not need to there that early.

Just ate at California Grill last night and our meal lasted two hours. Is there any way you can change it to another night?? It doesn't matter if you show up late but you may feel as though you have wasted money for the party because you may miss some of the shows etc. If you don't mind that then go and have a great time and you will love California Grill.

We got there about 45 min late last year. Still got to do everything we wanted (which was a lot.)

Wow! I wasn't really expecting a 2 hour dinner anywhere in the World. That's the type of place we like to go to locally, though. Sounds great! Woo hoo!

Thank you for the info!!

To everyone who responded with your experiences and advice: THANK YOU!

The best thing for us appears to be to keep our ADR, enjoy dinner, then enjoy the party. If there's nothing particularly magical that we'd miss getting there late, then we're in good shape.
