MVMCP a tip or two

I'm the 16th too.
Can we buy xmas stuff there or is it best to bring it with us.
I can't wait this is our 1st trip to wdw and doing party too I've got goose bumps just thinking about it.

Are there many photo pass photographers about I am trying to decide if to pre order or not.

Thanks
Angie

Can't wait for this year.

Hey PrincessAlways - off topic, but I just noticed we will be at SSR around the same time as you (12/4-12/11) and will be attending the same MVMCP on 12/7. We are also from NJ, so almost "neighbors". I can't wait until December!!!!! I'm so excited!

We'll be there on 12/9

Here is my plan, veterans tell me what you think......

5:45 Castle lighting
6:15 Arrive at Galaxy Theater
7:00 Twas the Night Before Christmas
7:50 Arrive at Fairytale garden
8:10 Belle's Enchanted Christmas
9:15 Arrive on Main Street
9:30 Holiday Wishes
10:00 Arrive at Frontierland by way of Adventureland for Parade spot
10:30 Christmas Parade
11:10 Duck out of Frontierland through Adventureland to Main Street
11:30 Celebrate the Season

Does this sound good? Where and when should we get cookies and cocoa?

Not bad. My only comment is for me the Christmas parade is the most beautiful on Main Street because of the decorations and because of the snow! It's just magical!

Also, do you allow any time for rides or character meet and greets?

We usually see the fireworks, see the Celebrate the Season show that is right before the second parade and then get a spot for the parade and relax. Then afterwards we either leave, do more rides or see some characters.

I would really like to do all the shows but it just isn't possible. This year we will only be at MK for MVMCP. My dd's want to do all the rides. MK is just a stop over before we board a carnival ship on Saturday. We have to have our disney fix before taking a non disney vacation:scared1: . I am just glad that we get to go to the party. I am hoping to catch the 2nd parade.

Do they close off behind the castle when they shoot the fireworks? My dd's are trying to plan where they are going to be when the first parade starts. They don't want to get caught in parade traffic.

I was worried about the crowds on Main Street and worried that we wouldn't get a good spot for the parade. Your suggestion sounds ideal. There are 9 of us with one being a 3 year old. Where do you think we could get a good spot if we stay on Main Street after fireworks and Celebrate the Season?

I don't really care about the rides, DD loves character meet and greets (much to my dismay) do you think we could see some characters after the parade? I would love to get Snow White and the dwarfs.

I'm not sure if Snow White and 7 Dwarves are out for MVMCP. They were out near the teacups for MNSSHP.

DD9 and I will probably skip Belle's Enchanted Christmas and do some character meet and greets and get hot cocoa and cookies after Twas night b4 Christmas and getting a spot for Wishes.

She loves the meet and greets too and I think she might enjoy those more than another show.
Then we can find a spot for Wishes, watch Celebrate the Season and find a spot to watch the 10:30 parade where she could see it and I could snap pics. Then we could finish the night doing character meets or whatever she wants to do.

So far my plans look like this:

4pm - arrive
4 - 5:00 pm rides
5:00-5:30pm QS supper
5:45 - castle lighting
6:15 in line for Twas Night Before Christmas
7:00 Night before Christmas show
7:40 - 9:00 - character meet and greets and hot cocoa/sugar cookies
9:15 Main Street for Holiday Wishes
10:00 Celebrate the Season
10:30 Parade
end of night either rides or final Character meet and greets

I'll probably tweak it later but it looks good for us so far.

Main Street can be crazy at times but it's also quite doable. I've been to 8 parties so far (MNSSHP and MVMCP) and I've only seen the parade two times in Frontierland; all other times we were on Main Street.

Luckily for us, our DH isn't really into the shows so while we were still watching the show, he ran and got spots on Main Street on the curb near the shops, kind of near the bakery. We usually get a spot anywhere from 1 hour to 30 minutes beforehand depending how how crowded Main Street looks.

Also, unfortunately, I do not think that Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs appear at MVMCP, only at MNSSHP.

Yikes! I didn't know about Snow White at the MNSSHP, I was there this weekend and had no idea. For some reason I thought it was the at the Christmas party OOPS.

I'd normally skip Belle, but the 3 year old is a huge fan.

So after Wishes if I send half of us to hold a space for the parade on Main Street the other half can watch Celebrate the Season?

Sounds good to me! That way everything will be done after the parade and we can just do whatever.

Thanks guys!

yes, unfortuately, she and the dwarfs appear at MNSSHP and not MVMCP. I have no clue why though. Silly I think.

That's what we do. DH gets parade spot duty if my DDs and I want to see the castle show! :thumbsup2 Then you can join the 'parade spot' group about 15 minutes before the parade starts (it starts in Frontierland) so really you're joining them about 30 minutes before the parade gets to you.

Then after the parade you have about an hour to do whatever you missed.

Although you won't see Snow white, you can see Belle in her red Christmas dress and for the past couple of years she's appeared with Beast. We saw her at two different parties and she's beautiful. :goodvibes I think for the past couple of years she's been near the IASW stroller parking area.

I posted this thread a while ago but didn't get many responses. Since there seems to be more people viewing this thread, I will repost and see what you guys think -

MVMCP - will this work????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, here is my plan for MVMCP (Sun. Dec. 7) - tell me if you think it will work. We are not really planning to do any rides as we have other MK days and have done all the rides in the past. We want to concentrate on getting all of the Christmas things in.

** Assuming the times are the same as last years party

4:40pm - early dinner at LTT
7:00pm - Mickey's Twas the night before christmas (we will go right over to get seats as soon as dinner is over)
8:10pm - Belle's christmas story
9:30pm - fireworks
10:15pm? - show in front of castle
10:30pm - parade
after parade - close - go see some characters in their holiday outfits

The place where I am most concerned is going from Belle's story to the fireworks. There is an early parade before the fireworks and I know most people who watch the first parade will just stay put for the fireworks. I am concerned that we will not find a good place to sit if we come over after Belle's story. I know Belle's story area is right on the side of the castle, so maybe we won't have to move too far, but I know we won't be able to see the stage show from the side. I was planning on just trying to find a seat near the castle for the fireworks and then staying put until after the second parade. I really want to do all of these things and this seems like the only way to fit them all in.

So, anyone who has done the party - does this seem doable? Also, are the characters in their holiday outfits during regular park days or only for the party? I really want to get some pictures with them, so if it's only during the party then I have to make sure to get to see them.

Thanks.

Your plan is the same as mine.

If the hub area is too congested I plan to cut through tomorrowland and acess Main Street that way to get a good view of the fireworks.

Thanks everyone for posting all of your tips! I am so excited!!! :) This is the only time of year I haven't been to WDW and I can't wait to experience it! I hope everyone has a fabulous time while at the parties!

Quick question too. Has anyone ever seen Daisy in her Holiday gear at the party? If I could get a Christmasy picture with her I would be sooooo happy! Or Mary Poppins?
Also, what is Belle's Enchanted Christmas exaclty? Is it like Belle's Storytime? Thanks again!

What exactly is Belle's Enchanted Christmas party? I have 2 boys and I think, by the sounds of it, we may want to skip this. Let me know.
Thanks.

Belle tells the story of her first Christmas in the castle and gets some volunteers from the audience to help her tell it. It's ok but not one of my favorite MVMCP shows. I'd much rather see the castle show or the Twas the Night before Christmas show or go on rides or see the fireworks or do just about any other MVMCP festivity. I'd only see it if I had a little girl that LOVED Belle.

Opinions needed!

If you had to choose between the Twas the Night Before Christmas show and the Celebrate the Seasons show...which would you pick? There will be 3 adults and we want to catch one show to get us in the spirit, but can't decide...is there a description of each anywhere??? TIA! :goodvibes

What is Celebrate the Seasons???

I am suddenly feeling very overwhelmed about MVMCP!!!
