MVMCP 2008 too crowded?

We are headed to Disney for the first two weeks of December this year. We want to hit MVMCP while we are there but from posts I've read this year all the Christmas party nights were really crowded. Can anyone tell me if going on a Tuesday or Sunday or during the first or second week (yes, pop warner will be there the second week) will make a difference? We have two little girls (2 and 4 at the time of trip) and I want to make sure it is worth staying up late! We did the Halloween party this past fall and the rides were all walk-ons but the candy lines and party extras were CRAZY! Any advice from you experts?

I went Tuesday December 4th in 2007 and was surprised to see a soldout sign out front (it was Pop Warner week). Lines were longer than previous years.

I was there on Tuesday 12/18, and it was also sold out.

We had gone to MNSSHP twice in September and we loved it. I was really disapointed in the crowds at MVMCP.

I was there with two friends and I commented a few times that I was glad DH was home with the kids. I am sure we would have left the party if the kids would have been there. Main Street and the walkways around the Castle were at a standstill.

DH and I are taking the kids this December and we are 95% sure we are not going to MVMCP.

I went Tuesday December 4th in 2007 and was surprised to see a soldout sign out front (it was Pop Warner week). Lines were longer than previous years.

We also attended MVMCP on December 4th (Tuesday). It was our first time. We found it to be VERY crowded. Personally, I think they oversell the special ticket parties. We even took the warnings I saw on the DISboards and attended the second parade and watched it in Frontierland. It was still crowded. There was NO way we could see it on Main Street. I'd swear that people never left after the first parade. It was packed. After the second parade, the park seemed to clear out a lot. We stayed until after midnight and had the park almost to ourselves at that time. It was great. No lines for BTMRR, Splash Mountain or the rides at Fantasyland. It was great. So, I'd recommend taking it easy in the morning and go to the park in the evening just for the party and stay until the end.

The parade and fireworks were the best we have ever seen. Truly magical. I'd highly recommend MVMCP. We plan to go again.

We went Tuesday, December 11. I was frightened when I went to MK that Tuesday morning b/c there was all ready a sign out front stating that the party was sold out. HOWEVER, we found it to be not bad at all. I rode Big Thunder 3 times in a row with no line! I rode the ride, ran around and back up the hill, down the hill, and in to a cart 3 times straight. We immediately walked on to Buzz's SRS, and had wonderful viewing of Holiday Wishes. We had no problem getting an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern at 6:30 p.m. All and all, it was a perfect day.

Did those of you that attended the Christmas Party feel like the special party stuff, like the cocoa and the parades and teh Christmas shows were crowded even if the rides weren't bad? THat was the way I felt at Halloween. We ended us using the party more as a way to ride stuff without long lines but missed out on the special Halloween stuff b/c it was so crowded.

I noticed reading the threads about MVMCP last year that many bought the Tues. tickets, which of course were the discounted tickets. I would be interested to know if any of the Thurs. night parties were sold out. It might be worth the extra money to go on a different night, especially for us, since we'll be there during Pop Warner this year. Were any of the Thursday parties sold out? Does anyone know?

We went on Thursday, December 6th and got there around 5:00 - regular crowds thinned out greatly after the regular Wishes showing and was really nice until about the start of the party - you don't want to try to do much on Main Street around 7:00 when the party "officially" begins.

I have to say that the crowds were about the same as they were on regular nights. I wouldn't go expecting it to be empty but it was manageable for us and our party of 10.

And, if you're not in a festive mood after all the special shows, music, snow on Main Street, cocoa/cookies and special Christmas Wishes fireworks, something is wrong .

We did the Christmas party the very first night in November. It was great, but definitely crowded. We didn't bother with any rides and just did the special events. We did have to wait for the 3rd show of Night Before Christmas, as the other ones were filled up before we got there. We did manage to get an awesome seat in the hub in front of the castle so we watched the stage show then just sat there and waited for the second parade. The fireworks we amazing. It was an incredible time and we're looking forward to doing in again for our trip in Dec.

I am hoping that night they have MVMCP b/c that is the night I would like to do it. I've looked on the Pop Warner website, but it is not listed on their calendar. I've even thought about emailing them and getting the date of the event, so when the dates for MVMCP come out I already know what night to pick. My DH said that is taking overplanning to a crazy state , and told me not to. Just to wait until they publish the date.

We were at DHS this past December when they were closing it early for the Pop Warner kids. It was on Wednesday last year. Doesn't mean it will be the same this year. But, that's what it was last year.

the night we hit MNSSHP on November 2, it was sold out...but I thought it was great. No lines on the rides (the only lines I hit were Indy Speedway - 15 min or so, and maybe 5 min for Buzz). I really enjoyed it.

If the MVMCP is the same when "sold out", it won't bother me. We're hitting it sometime in December. So, hopefully the "sold out" number is the same as it was last year for MNSSHP!!

I know of only one Thursday that sold out; December 6.

I think the November parties will be less crowded than the December parties and I think Sun and Thurs are the least crowded or the least likely to sell out.

Yes, you really need to purchase them in advance. Begin looking for the dates in April or May. Tickets should go on sale shortly after that.

I've never been to MVMCP, but I've been to MNSSHP. Are the Hot Chocolate and cookie stations at MVMCP kind of like the trick or treat stations from MNSSHP?
