MVMCP 2008 Dates

Straight from the "Disney Moms" web site - here are the MVMCP dates for 2008:

November 10, 11, 14, 16, 20, 21, 30

December 2,4,5,7,9,11,12,14,16,18, 19

Tix go on sale May 1 - no prices yet ...

I had already looked at last years and had those dates as a guess.. works out great!!!!

Now, is it worth the money? Honest opinions please.

We've been to MVMCP twice, and if we were going at the right time of year this year we would go again. We enjoy it (and would always keep going back) because there's so much going on that you can (and kind of need to) choose your experience for the evening. Do you want to:

1. see all the special shows?
2. seek out all the special characters who are out?
3. concentrate on your favorite rides and enjoy short lines (with the exception of Fantasyland -- that's always been a mob scene during our party experiences)
4. stake out a great parade viewing spot early, and take in all the sights and sounds of the evening?
5. enjoy all the little touches such as the strolling musicians or little "side shows"
6. get an extra big helping of holiday magic?

Given the amount of $$ we spend on a WDW vacation as is, it would seem to us a false economy to pass on MVMCP -- a fun event that just adds to the magic IMHO.

gee- we did the very last one offered in 2007 and that was on the 21st. . It was sold out according to the signs early that day.

Doing Christmas week at the world was the best ever. Now we may have to try for even earlier to catch a MVMCP. Seems like they would want to extend it until the 21st again. But - oh well.

It will be a long night, and you may not be up for it after travelling - and you'll probably need to sleep in the next morning ...

We'll be there on the 9th!!

Sleep? You can sleep when you get home!!! I'll be doing the 4 night cruise before heading to WDW, get off the ship about 8:00 am, drive to WDW and do the MVMCP that night...sleep is for wimps!!
No time for sleeping in WDW...not with the gang I'm traveling with!!

We have two dates to pick from in November too!!!

Does anyone know if the parties before Thanksgiving (specifically the Thursday and Friday before) normally sell out? I'm thinking no, and I'm really hoping no. I don't know which night we'd want to go, and I'd like to buy the tickets after we see how the weather is.

Since I am new to this site I don't really know anything about the Mom's Board. Is it pretty reliable? I mean I guess I am asking are we sure these are the exact dates?

I don't know anything about the party. What is involved? How much does it cost? and how late does it usually go?
