I'm going my first Disney Cruise in September :cool1: . I have been learning as much as possible about Disney cruises and have seen some really great photos from other people's trips. I was wondering if someone had or knew were I could find a list of must take pictures. Pictures I might not think of or other opportunities where I definitely want to take a picture. The more ideas the better. I have started a list from other pictures I have scene but I want to know what pictures are your must takes every trip. TIA

We always get a picture of the kids looking out the porthole on deck 3 outside of Parrot Cay. I turn off the flash to get the sillouette.

Thank you that is a great idea. I know others of you have some good ideas for pics too.

Great thread! I would also love to know about the 'must have' photos! :teeth:

A picture of the ship from the beach at CC. Beautiful!!!!

ETA....I took pictures, lots of pictures. These I will cherish for life. Take pictures on the ship of people that you would like to remember. We got a pic with the family sitting at AP with our servers standing behind us. We LOVED our servers, this is a great memory. My daughter made a good friend on the ship, we have pics of them together. Sunsets and sunrises, beautiful. I carried my camera just about everywhere so that I didn't miss any opportunities that could arise.

Now this has me wanting to go get my pics so I can relive my cruise!!!!

I just love that picture of your little ones in the porthole! Every time I see it in your signature it makes me smile. :)

DH and I won't have any kiddies with us on this trip, but somehow I'm going to have to get a picture in that porthole. Somehow I don't think hubby and I would turn out quite as cute as your kids, though...LOL!

If you scrapbook, then take pictures of everything...even the little things that you wouldn't normally. Room number, fish clip outside door, elevator floor with mousehands pointing to your floor (these aren't on every floor), all the signs you see. You could just take a ton of pictures. :)

What sort of skill and equipment do you have? That'll help me give you some ideas.

I took a fair number of pictures on our Wonder cruise this past summer, including many on Castaway Cay, the usual family shots at dinner, etc. But what in retrospect I wish that I had tried were some night shots up on decks 9 and 10. It is very pretty up there at night! I guess I'll give it a shot (pun only partially intended) on the Magic in October!

I currently have a Sony DSC-P71, however I will probably purchasing a new camera before I go on the cruise, since I have had this one for 3 years. I will probably be purchasing something in the mid-level range. I have thought about getting a digital SLR but I don't think I want something that large to carry around. Does anyone have any suggestions for a camera. Thanks in advance.

If you don't have any money tied up in lenses, I think the Nikon D70 is the best value available today. It's more expensive than the Canon Digital Rebel but far more capable. Rumor has it that a new low-end Nikon and a new low-end Canon are forthcoming, so it might be worth waiting.

Regardless of your choice, I'd buy well before your cruise so you can learn the camera.
