They are gone. Packed up beds and mattresses, dressers and couches. Our mean neighbors have left without so much as a "for sale" sign in their yard! This is totally unexpected! We thought something was up when every night this week they backed their van up to their front door, but today, when the U-haul showed up, we were fairly certain!

These people were so nasty, had no respect for our property, and had children who were downright rude (including a 5 yr old would would flip us off and aim his slingshot at our house!)

I'm so hoping and praying for a nice family to move in there now. Any WISHER's need a new house in central Ohio????? :D

Thanks for letting me share my good news! I'm so excited I could burst! :)

Whoo hoo!

I bet you are excited! Sending pixie dust your way that will give you great "DIS TYPE" neighbors!

Having good neighbors that you enjoy being around is so nice. I really hope you get nice ones.

Melanie

I'm so happy for you. How awful to have such nasty neighbors and to even have a 5 year old to behave like that. We'll all send some extra PD for some great new neighbors to move in and that you'll have lots in common including the love of the "World":D .

Nothing more horrible than lousy neighbors, glad to hear they have hit the road, sending some thoughts for better neighbors.

ARGH! Tell me it isn't so!!

Woke up this am, looked out the window at the sunshine and ACK!!!! Their front door is a little open and their little doggie is on their front porch....the one who poops in our yard all the time (even though they have a fenced in backyard)

(gasping for air) tell me I'm hallucinating. (yell for dh) no!! no!!

This is our hypothesis. They packed up so late last night that they couldn't go to their new house or they'd never get their beds unpacked and made at a reasonable hour. MUST be they spent the night in a hotel and left their dog here b/c the hotel wouldn't take them.

Now the husband has left in his van, the house is locked up and the dog is outside unattended---normal for them, they kept him locked outside all day while they were gone.

(sigh) keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the good wishes. We're holding out hope!

OMG!! Sounds like my neighbors!! I have them on both sides!!

That was me pixie-ing you!!!
:p

Ok, to show you what I'm dealing with....here's a few things that have happened....
The first time we met...we took cookies over to welcome them. Within minutes their then 18 month old threw a brass coat hook at my daughter and it smacked her in the forehead. (child was not disciplined or told that wasn't nice)
The mom asks me one day while we're outside "how do you keep your kids in your yard?" I told her that whenever they are out (they were 4 and 2 at the time) that I go out and they KNOW the boundries and it's the wrath of God if they cross them without me right there. She tells me that she moved out to the country so that she wouldn't have to watch her kids so much, they'd have more room to play. She would allow her then 18 month old and 5 yr old out for hours without checking on them ---with an IN GROUND pool!!!
One day, her kids were playing in my yard with my kids. She strolls over with TWO popsicles for HER kids and stays around to chat while her kids eat their popsicles in front of my kids!! RUDE!
They had an agressive dog who would growl at us from our front porch while we were IN THE HOUSE!! Once we couldn't get out of our pool because the dog was growling, barking and snarling at us. They were all outside playing in their yard at the time....oblivious that there was anything wrong with us being terrorized by the dog. A call to the dog warden proved to them that we were evil. He actually said "we moved away from the suburbs to get away from people like YOU." Funny, because that's the same reason *I* moved away.
They have two acres, but insist on hitting baseballs into OUR yard by our cars!
Oh, I could go on and on. I'm so glad they appear to be moving. I pray that the new neighbors are not worse....hard to find worse than we had though, but I guess it's possible.
At the very least, they have given us GREAT party conversations as we tell our friends about their antics! So SOME good has come from knowing them!

WOW!!!! Both neighbors have little dogs, who come and poop in my front yard, too. They stand on my front porch and bark at me in my house. One dog peed in my garage!!
They have stolen our stuff, one took the throttle control off of our mower. (we left it parked between DH company car and garage door one nite to let it dry out)
The same neighbor has tried to pick me up...now he just sits and watches me while I work....eeessshhh!! I think there are 2 families there. Sad news is they just moved in in March.
Our saving grace is our home is paid off in 2 years, so we will high tail it outta here when that happens.

Here's to Mayberry!

Ok, ok, I bumped into the street busybody on my bike ride with the kids. My neighbors are not moving by choice. They LOST their house. They are filing bankruptcy. I do feel a little bad for them....that's really a tough thing to do, but it gets them out of the neighborhood. Apparently NO ONE down the street is sad that they are leaving.
If only they'd act nicer, they'd have more friends. :(

Glad that they are leaving you alone, but sorry that anyone had to lose house in that manner, economy right now is kind of scary.

My question - did anyone come to get the dog yet? I surely hope they don't abandon it as they move on.

Ohiominnie-good for you and your neighborhood, bad for them. Must be a tough thing for small children to understand. Hopefully they will learn from this, and not repeat parents mistakes.
Chances are, you will be neighborless for a while. If you are into buying houses for rentals, you could pick that one up pretty cheap and CHOOSE your neighbors!!lol
True about the dog--so often I hear of people leaving the pet behind in these situations. Too sad...
