I am taking my daughter to Disney World for the first time in March 2005 for four night and five days. I have never been myself I need some advice on where to go and What to see those days. Any suggestions would be great!

Oh my gosh!!!! Where do I begin...First Congrats! You both will have a blast! A few of things that my 5 yr old DD loves are, breakfast with the princesses in the castle, Buzz Lightyear, Splash Mountain, The Teacups, The Safari Ride and Boneyard Playground at Animal Kingdom, Spaceship Earth at Epcot, are her top things that she mentions....She also loves the characters and last year loved being able to take their picture herself with her own camera! I could go on and on....I am sure others have more! Have fun!
P.S. Read the thread on Waking Up Tinkerbell! We are going to try to do that this trip (in 6 days whoohooo)

My 5 year old princess loved CRT breakfast in the castle princess: princess:
she wore her Cinderella costume and the princesses were all very attentive, especially Snow White, Mary Poppins and Cinderella! She loved the parades, Cinderella's carousel, Its a Small World, Peter Pan, Teacups, Splash MOuntain, Goofys Barnstormer, and all the characters (make sure you get an autograph book)! I've heard that it is nice to get a haircut at WDW, they put colored gel in the little girls hair! The pink Mouse ears that are personalized is her favorite souveneir from WDW. She loved the Beauty and Beast show at MGM and seeing Buzz and Woody at Al's Toy Barn, loved the Muppets 3D movie at MGM and the Ariel show (although the Ursurla puppet did freak her out a bit). We went to AKL, and maybe it was too hot, but she could'nt wait to leave! We also enjoyed the character dinner at the Chrystal Palace with Pooh and friends! Hope this helps! :flower1:

My own personal DD5 loved riding "El Rio Del Tiemp" at Mexico and Maelstrom at Norway in EPCOT. She also enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean -- I see a boat ride theme.

There was the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus and Cinderella's Royal Table at Cinderella Castle. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary was also enjoyable for her.

My daughter loved both of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her favorite part of the trip was the characters. She was almost 4. She was not fond of the rides in the dark, but at five I think she will be fine.

The Little Mermaid in MGM was another favorite. Some don't like it and are a little afraid(mostly boys). I think girls like it because they know the story, and they know that Ariel and Prince Eric "win".

Other favorites:
Aladin Magic Carpets MK
Cinderella Dinner at GF
Mickey/Minnie Country House MK

We have been so many time I can't count. Our DD's 7 & 9 enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain and Big THunder Mountain, Mickey's Philharmagic, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Snow White Test Track, Great Movie Ride(except the Alien part), Star Tours, Muppetvision, El Rio de Tiempo (think that's it), and a few otheres I can't remember. For a first timer be sure to see the Beauty & the Beast show, Little Mermaid, Fantasmic, Illuminations and Wishes. Spectromagic is great for a night parade. I'll try to see what wlse they have written down for this upcoming trip..........

Besides the rides and character meals everyone mentioned I would also recommend the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand FLoridian. It's from 1:30-2:30 for girls ages 4-11. My girls always do this and love it. They have tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter. They think the Mad Hatter is a riot!

My daughter loved breakfast at Akershus with the princesses, dinner at Chef Mickey's, Test track, Mickey's Philharmagic, Big Thunder Mountain, Fantasmic, Wishes fireworks, Alladin's carpet ride, I could go on and on! There wasn't anything I can think she didn't like. Enjoy your vacation, you girls are going to have so much fun!!! :cheer2: princess: :cloud9: :cheer2:

At five, DD loved many of the above mentioned - characters (esp. Cinderella and Pooh and friends), tea cups, goofy's barnstormer, etc. she also LOVED the pony rides and petting zoo at Fort Wilderness and Ketchakiddie Creek at Typhoon Lagoon.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for your responses, we are going to most of the shows all of you mentioned I could not ge in the CRT I tried but I called way to early. Is there any shows she might like and set through. :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Too bad you aren't going earlier - we have ressies at CRT that I need to cancel on the 18th. Put a post out on that site and see if anyone is planning on canceling a ressie -- who know's you may get lucky!! Don't give up on that one -- we can't wait to go. What resort are you staying at? :earseek: :cool1: :flower1:

My daughter and I will be staying in the Pop Century Resort. I think I am more excited to go to WDW than she is, I know it is going to be awsome she is to young to realize what an exciting trip this will be. I kinda feel weird only going with my 5 year old daugter but I am a single mom who saved for year to go and I am going to enjoy myself.

This sounds like a blast!!! How much is it???

We are going to be at POP March 23-26. I will be at the parks March 23 and 24 by myself with my 3 girls. (DH will be working.) If we see you, we will say hello! :D

RoseRoni: is your daugther above 40 inches? If so, that opens up a whole lotta different options! Like, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ( a bumpy little coaster, but it doesn't have many drops ) and the FANTASTIC Splash Mountain. Also, she might ( if she's daring) enjoy Space Mountain, and inside dark roller coaster.

You will have an absolutely wonderful time! Enjoy every minute of it. And with just two of you, you can plan everything around what you two want to do - stop when you want, go when you want, and enjoy. Fantasyland and Toon Town were my girls favorites at that age, with a little Buzz Lightyear and MGM's Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Belle show thrown in. The characters and autograph books were huge for them. Watch a few Disney movies that tie into the attractions before you go... Also my girls loved the hotel pools....... !

It was about $25.00 and worth every penny. They even take a snapshot of your child with Alice and the MadHatter for you to keep. The girls loved it and now they go every year!

My daughter loved the show in front of the castle, can't remember the name of it offhand. She liked the Barnstormer and Minnie's kitchen in the Magic Kingdom. I also took her to see Belle's storytime near the castle. Mickey's Philharmagic was also a big hit.

I second the Wonderland Tea Party. My DD5 went this past December and it came to $30.01 including tax. She loved it and I would definately let her do it again!! Worth every penny to see her so excited!

We took our sons last March (they were 2 and 5). My five year old loved Buzz Lightyear, and after three tries to get him on it - The Haunted Mansion! He also loved Pirates of the Caribbean. The one problem that we had - he was terrified of 3-D! I thought he would love "Tough to be a Bug" - but he was so scared!! He loved meeting the characters at the breakfasts/meals we went to.

Have a great time!
