Must-see movies before going to Universal?

My fiance and I are going to Universal Orlando for our Honeymoon the first week of November. We both love roller coasters and thrill rides of all kinds.

We are going to have 5 days for both parks and Wet 'n Wild. Wanted to not do too much, ya know. It's the honeymoon...

So fiance is, shall we say, culturally challenged. He doesn't really watch movies or tv much. I've already convinced him to (finally) read Harry Potter and we'll watch those movies before we go.

As it's been more than 10 years since I've been to Universal, I'm not sure what all is there.

Please give me some suggestions for movies/shows/books to ensure he's exposed to before we go so that we get as much out of the trip as possible. Any other tips that you have would be great! (BTW, we're staying at the Holiday Inn across the street and walking to the park.)

Thanks!

After you watch all the Harry Potters- and make sure you watch #7 to get all the Gringotts references- you can watch:

Transformers
The Mummy
Men In Black
Terminator
Spiderman
Despicable Me

These are a good start, and I'm sure others will give you more ideas....

Blues Brothers
Shrek
Hulk
Popeye
Dudley Do right
Any Dr Seuss cartoon or movie
Simpsons cartoon

Lallybroch -- nothing to do with your question (although, really, Harry Potter in my opinion is all you really need to see/read -- the other stuff you don't really need to catch the references to enjoy the areas), I am assuming you are an Outlander fan. If so, hoping you watched the "honeymoon" episode of Outlander on new TV show. THAT'S what you should be watching. Tee hee. :) Have fun!

We are definately going to watch all the Harry Potter films again before we go in December! It will make it so much more fun! :yay:

At the very least, I would watch the Harry Potter movies and Jurassic Park.

HUGE Outlander fan! I'm a bit behind on the show, though, because I actually got my fiance to read them, too, so we watch them together. We're also big football fans, not to mention Doctor Who, so we watch football on Saturdays and record those to watch later. But we're catching up! I'm LOVING the show. It's really cool to see it come to life.

Thanks to everyone else for the suggestions. I figured HP would be the biggest thing, so that's my focus, but I'll see if we can get in a few other movies. Thanks!

It would a good idea to see them before so you and her future husband could know what is going on.

Well, hurry and get to "The Wedding" before your November trip. All the prep you need. And all I'll say on this family board. :thumbsup2 (Side note: I went to my doctor sick with an ear infection today and SHE'S a huge Outlander fan and yelled at me for not finishing Written in My Own Heart's Blood yet. When I told her I had brought home some work today for after appointment, she said she was going to write me a note that I could only read my book and not do any pesky "work.") :rotfl2:
