Must see, easily skipped, or depends. please rate DLP compared to DL & or DW

You're the first person I'm aware of on here who prefers the WDW version! Personally, I think POTC at DLP is fantastic: it's a much longer ride and it has more drops than its WDW counterpart, plus the photo op you mentioned. By the way, Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones are going to be added to the ride in time for the 20th anniversary in 2012. :thumbsup2

Yes, the paris version is the best one.

My Daughter always says that DLP peter pan is the better.

Its most likely that i dont like the 2 drops and thats what makes me favour the WDW version. I would definately enjoy the DLP ride more if there were main characters from the films. Also the dlp version is obviosuly in french so at least you know whats being said at WDW.

Agree that DLP version is the better ride but the graffiti leading up to it is disgusting, especially seeing as its disney. you just wouldnt get that at WDW.

Stonfiesta,
I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway!

Personally I wouldn't take a child to WDW until they are old enough to appreciate it.

We took DS1 when he was 4 to WDW. He was brilliant on the two flights, but was totally over awed by the whole experience of the MK, Epcot and the Studios. (We didn't even do Universal or the water parks- we just stuck to the 3 I mentioned). Every night he had massive melt downs because he was too over loaded, (despite the fact we only spent about 3- 4 hours a day at the parks, had plenty of rest days, naps etc). He loved meeting the princesses, Tinkerbelle etc and loved the rides, but it totally blew his mind and ended up ruining our holiday TBH. He had a massive temper tantrum in one of the shops and couldn't deal with the whole experience, despite us preparing him well, and taking it at his pace.

In the end we hardly saw anything and I now wish we had waited until he was this age- almost 6. It's alot of money to spend if it doesn't work out. We had saved for 5 years for this trip and I am still disappointed with how it all turned out and wish I'd waited, as it's a lot of money to blow on a holiday.

We do have some fab photos of Ds with the characters, and he got to drive the monorail, steer the Jungle Cruise etc, and I do have some brilliant memories, so it wasn't a total waste, but it could have been sooo much better if I'd been patient and waited 2 years more.

Also, at 3 he wasn't 100% potty trained, so I wouldn't have risked the flight.

I guess it just depends on each individual child.

I should just add, we've been taking him to DLP since he was 14 months old, and he loved every minute of it.

We took little munch when she was only 6 months and she really enjoyed it. The bright colours of disney seemed to have her attention and she was very happy there, and the character interaction was superb. We planned our day around her sleeping so when it was nap time we done the shops and sights and when she was awake we done the rides. We done everything we wanted to and had no fuss from her apart from the first night only because it was the first time she didnt sleep in her own bed.

DLP for her 1st birthday was just the same. going again next month and hopefully she will enjoy it just the same.

its definately a lot of money though........although it seems to work out cheaper to do wdw for the same amount of days as it would to do DLP.

Im thinking after next year and when my annual pass runs out that the dlp trips will stop and that it will just have to be wdw. seeing far too much bad stuff at DLP and im getting fed up with it.

Pirates DL is best, DLP is good, WDW is ok
BTMR DLP is best DL and WDW are good
