The date on my ticket says first use must be by April 24th. Perhaps that's what they mean?

It's valid through April 24th according to Disneyland's website.

Edit: I just saw that there are Southern CA 2fers that are valid through 5/22. But you have to live in Southern CA.

Yes, I think we have some DL cheer posters out of control and we, the DL board regulars have figured it out . Enough said.

As for the 2fers, the date has been extended. DD21, who works in the park, has told me that attendance figures are way down for the year and they are extending some promotional deals for further dates. It may be good news for us that the crowds are down, but lower profit margins for DL.

My guess is that it's an attempt to discourage everyone from going to the parks on the cheer weekend, thus purging the parks of all non-cheerleading type people. In the end, their ultimate goal will be achieved: Disneyland domination.

I'm sorry, I just have to jump in and here. I had no plans to go during those days, but if they were really when I wanted to go, a few hundred cheerleaders wouldn't keep my from enjoying myself in the happiest place on Earth. LOL, but alas, I will miss the cheerleaders this year.

I'm sorry, I just have to jump in and here. I had no plans to go during those days, but if they were really when I wanted to go, a few hundred cheerleaders wouldn't keep my from enjoying myself in the happiest place on Earth. LOL, but alas, I will miss the cheerleaders this year.

It is not a "few hundred," it will be about 50,000 competitors and fans. Obviously you have never been to Disneyland when one of the cheer and dance competitions was going on. Just trying to warn people to help them avoid the frustration I went through last year with the parks completely packed.

I found some great information on busy days at Disneyland and DCA...


Weekends between January 7th and April 24th.

Disneyland is offereing the 2fer deal and the parks will be busy.

This is the last weekend of the 2fer. The parks, especially DCA will be packed.

During Spring Break

Spring Break times run from Mid-March to the end of April. Couple that with the 2fer and you have a busy park.

Dates to avoid because of major events in the area:
April 3 through 6 - Orange County Boat Show (Not too crowded)
April 18 through 20 - American Showcase National Cheer and Dance Competition (Avoid at all costs!!)
April 18 through 20 - Long Beach Grand Prix (Added crowds)
July 6 through 10 - LA Dance Magic Finals (VERY busy!)

Um, actually they extended the 2fer deal until May 22nd so it won't be so crowded.

Secondly, I went that exact week (17th-18th) last year and the park was dead! We walked onto practically anything. That being said it was during the week.

and I think they are just trying to lessen crowds for themselves

Yep..they extended them...I was glad when the original dates were listed for that promo since I'll be there May 14-17..now the 2fer people will be there too..Oh well..Disney is crowded all the time, so..where is the MM superthread??

I hope they are a little down...you can't ALWAYS go up..just like housing prices. Plus..running YOAMD twice wasn't such a keen idea IMO. (unless of course I win a big prize, then it will be great! )

I'm sorry, but not ALL 50,000 cheerleaders will go to Disneyland just because they are in a competition right next door. I mean, have you seem some of those coaches/parents? They are all about those competitions and keeping their girls focused on winning.

So, I maintain that while attendance may be up during this time, it will not be New Year's Eve packed.

Not to mention the fact that the 50,000 number is completely false. The Anaheim Convention calendar lists the attendance at 10,000.

According to the Anaheim Convention Center website, http://www.anaheimoc.org/conventioncalendar/index.asp, they are expecting 10,000 attendees, not 50,000 as (someone) is claiming.

Also, during the slow period that (someone) is recommending, April 1-10, they are expecting 21,800 attendees.
