Must pack items...

I second the power strip, especially when traveling with electronics. Also, spare batteries for the camera. That's something you do not want to pay resort prices for.

Also, even traveling without kids--I always take an over the closet rod basket. It keeps everything off the bathroom counter and into one spot.

I recommend packing the following:

* Sport sunblock (the spray kind goes on quickly and easily, but be sure to apply it where there is no wind. We applied it on a windy day and were burned because most of it blew away before it reached our skin).
* A small first aid kit with digital thermometer and Benadryl-brand single spoon children's antihistamine (works great for you as well, if you find you have allergies to the palms, which pollinate year round in Florida. Also take along your Dr. or pediatrician's phone number, just in case.
* A park back-pack. Take one that is comfortable and has room for everything your family may need throughout the day. Then take turns carrying it or store it in your child's stroller. We prefer the style with a one-arm, padded strap. Be sure it also has waterproof material on the outside or is lined on the inside
* Small zip-lock bags. These come in great for storing wet socks (think water rides), sea shells if you plan to visit the ocean, quarters for laundry facilities or toll roads, snacks, etc...
* 2-3 boxes of non-perishable snacks such as dried fruit, granola bars, nutra-grain bars, etc... they are great for when you need a quick breakfast or a snack while in the parks.
* Your cell phone chargers (#1 item left at home)
* Rain ponchos (if you will be visiting between now and mid October). It rains just about every afternoon during the summer and early fall months. So be prepared, and purchase rain ponchos in advance. These also work great for water rides, when you'd like to cool off, but not be drenched afterward.
* Sun glasses, swimsuits/trunks
* Comfortable walking shoes - Crocs are our favorite park shoe. They are lightweight, anti-microbial and they dry in a flash from water rides or rain.
* Clothing that wicks moisture away from the body, if traveling within the next 3 months. Remember the marathoner's golden rule: Cotton is rotten.

Tips:

Pack your children's clothes (including undies for each day) into large zip lock bags. Write the day of the week on the bag with a sharpie marker and make getting dressed each day a breeze, and fun!

Have your children make their own personalized autograph books instead of buying the pricy ones at Disney. Grab a few blank journals, Disney stickers, and embellishments at the craft store and have fun! Not only will they be personal, but it will get them excited for their vacation!

Have a great time!

Great ideas! I'll be using some!

I have been to DW with my DD and DS at all ages and can recommend the following: ziploc bags-take a few in parks each day in your bag to put leftovers from your meals in. My kids dont always finish their carrot stix, grapes, etc from meals so I just pop them in a ziploc bag. very handy to pull these out in long lines. Plus, less waste and get your $ worth out of a meal. I also take gallon size and put each of my kids a bathing suit in one when i know that we will be somewhere there is a fountain or water ride. we go in a bathroom, put on bathing suit, put their clothes in the ziploc bag, let them get soaked and have fun, then back to the bathroom to change into their dry clothes. Wet suits go back in the baggies and dont get everthing else in the backpack wet! wet wipes-a no brainer. shout wipes/tide pen-at some point, someone is gonna make a mess on themselves with food or drink. refillable water bottle-why pay a ton when you can get it out of a fountain for free? every kind of kids medicene possible-I am a worst case scenario kind of Mom. We pack motrin, pepto, immodium ad, ear drops, eye drops....you name it. pop up hamper and detergent-I hate dirty clothes in a pile and I hate packing them to bring them home. a roomy backpack-this is what we take into the park. my DH doesnt take his wallet, i dont take a purse, and i never took a diaper bag. keep your essentials in a backpack and keep your hand free. just be sure that you dont put tix or money in the outer pockets. put it in the one closest to ur back for safe keeping. hope these tips help!princess:pirate:

Distwix,
What do you mean by DO NOT GET DARK COLORED ONES? I just got 2 Sigg bottles in black. What happens? Thanks

I think the poster meant do not get dark colored flavor packets (like raspberry or cherry). They stain really badly if the powder gets on your clothes or skin. I've never had that problem with the lemonade flavored ones, though.
