Are there any treats/meals we should try while at the parks (family of 5, with 3 boys)? We're planning on sampling Butterbeer, but is there anything else unique? I've heard of cauldron cakes, but have no idea what those are. Thought?
TIA!

Cauldron cakes are chocolate cupcakes in the shape of a cauldron, with chocolate mousse in the center and hard chocolate where the feet and handle would be. Available at Honeydukes in WWoHP. DW has had a couple. ;)

Pumpkin Juice is also available in WWoHP and I haven't heard of it anywhere else.

at the studios, i always hit the major merch store at the front of the park.
and the one at ioa for the fudge.......

man is that stuff tasty...

also at the studios, boulangerie..
they have cheesecake factory ones and sweet desserts.........

We love the frozen butter beer.:thumbsup2

Also I cannot visit the parks without popcorn, I know it's simple but still a treat.:goodvibes

Purchasing your drinks from the Three Broomsticks will save you money and if you go in the morning it will save you time. They have butterbeer, pumpkin juice, and pear cider for less than the outside carts.

Get a frozen butterbeer at the Hoghead pub (the unfrozen is not near as good and pumpkin juice is just plain gritty and nasty).

At Honeydukes get a cauldron cake, pumpkin pasty, and treacle fudge.

At the Croissant Moon bakery try any of their delicious cakes. It's very rich, but they also have a peanut butter chocolate diamond thingy that's pretty good.

Over at the Studios in the San Fransisco area is a bakery that has a fresh raspberry, chocolate cake, cream filling tower thingy that I love. I also like the hot dog stand that's right across the street (and I normally don't even care for hot dogs).:rotfl:

Make sure to get your kids choclate frogs. my kids loved them and have to bring some home for friends this year. :thumbsup2 the bakeries all have loads of good treats. The funnel cakes are great. Take them to mythos...we didn't think the food was great but the atmosphere was the best! Circus McGurkus was fun too, there is a train that rides around the top of the restaurant. :wave2:

The warm banana gooey cake at Mythos is very yummy.

We always have to have a sundae on a stick in Suess Land. It is a vanilla ice cream bar, dipped in chocolate, and covered in nuts. It is really, really good, and big enough to share.

The frozen butter bears were heavenly. We drank lots of those.

We loved the frozen butter beer and pear cider, but eight of the nine people in our group made some really interesting faces after trying the pumpkin juice. (My husband has a cast-iron stomach.)

The cauldron cake was my favorite treat from our two visits (it's really rich, though. Three of us split one). And we loved the pumpkin tart. The chocolate frog is problematic: a really big fan is going to want to buy one at least once. But the chocolate they use tastes really cheap (kind of a chalky, waxy aftertaste). My son ate part of it, but ended up pitching most out. One thing you don't hear a lot about is the chocolate trifle at the Three Broomsticks -- we really enjoyed it.

On our most recent visit, we tried the Boulangerie at the Studios. I was all sugared out by that point, but my husband and son both gave the cheesecake a thumbs up.

Butterbeer, I like the regular and have it almost perfected here at home.
Frozen is yummy too, as long as it's not freezing out (working on that one but the grands say I have the regular almost EXACTLY as in the park!:cool1:)

Cauldron Cakes from Honeydukes yummy but very rich.

Meals? A food snack, would be a chicken wrap from Thunder Falls Terrace in Jurassic Park:worship:

Yum! Thanks for the trips on what treats are the best at US! I'm going to Disney/US on my honeymoon in September and although I've been to US at least six times, I cannot remember a SINGLE thing I've ever eaten there besides a turkey leg on my last trip. I always eat lunch, but I guess nothing has ever been very memorable. Can't wait to try the frozen butter beer and the cauldron cakes!

They all sound YummY!

Now, I have to start a list for treat.....
