Must have toys for this year

Any idea what to look for that will be scarce? Girls 8 and under, boys 11-13? Any help would be good.

I suspect that the following items will be hard to find.

For a month now I have been searching for the Clawdeen Wolf Monster High Doll. I finally had to bite the bullet and pay double on Amazon to insure that I had it for Christmas.

Other toys that are expected to be hard to find are: Figit, Lalaloopsy dolls and Leap pad.

What I do is if I find the item I go ahead and buy it, then if it goes on sale later and they have them I will buy the sale item and return the full price item, if it is something that the kids really really want.

I'm never very good at guessing these things, but I know my DD7 wants one of those fijit things really badly. I will def purchase before they become scarce, but I'm hoping for a sale.

I think the Hearts for Hearts dolls are going to be big for little girls. I've already noticed some of their outfits selling for 3 or 4 times the normal price on Amazon. Glad I already got mine from Toys R Us.

I was surprised to see that Figits have dropped in price at Walmart. We found one at our local thrift store on half price day. DS likes it, but I definately do not think it is worth $50.

The LeapPad looks cool, our local Walmart has a ton of them!

Yup my younger 2 want them too. I'm debating getting them now or waiting to see if they go on sale. I have the Hasbro Toys Groupon but I hate to pay full price for anything - even with a Groupon - so I'm having a hard time getting myself to make the leap I'm so afraid that I'll buy now and next week they'll go on sale in a value pack and I'll be kicking myself.

There are a few online websites to track down hard to find toys. I was able to get the 2 newest Monster High dolls Abbey and Spectra because of them. They alert you when the toy is in stock and what site has them. I got the Abbey doll for $12.99 through Target's online sale 2 weeks ago and Spectra through Amazon for $19.99. Best of all I didnt have to run to 10 different stores looking for a toy that wa out of stock. Zhu zhu pets did me in last year DD's bday is the 18th of this month and she is going to freak.

I just ordered willa fijit from walmart.com I figure the ones on the shelf have been poked a thousand times because they are cute lol

It was $39.99. The highest I saw them was $55 at Target. I figure I will keep my receipt, if it goes cheaper I will price match.

I ended up ordering from Hasbro using my Groupons the other night because they are having free shipping until the 9th or 10th and their shipping is outrageous. They usually have a friends and family sale but I figured if I waited they would be out of stock or I wouldn't be able to use the Groupons during the sale.

Yeah. I'm going to bite the bullet tonight. I've been doing a little research. Target and Walmart don't stock the one middle DS wants. Amazon and Kmart carry it but get more money. I'll hold off on buying for the younger one. He wants the Thor toys but I hoping I'll be able to get those in a B&M store on sale or later from Hasbro on sale on BF.

ETA - URGH! The groupon website is down. Everytime I log in and click show my groupons it logs me out so I can't get the code to enter it. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

Just curious are the discs made of foam like the darts??? DS loves the nerf tosy!

I keep thinking the Lego VW Camper is going to be hot but it's still in stock on lego.com.

BTW, I looked up Fijits on the Walmart site and they've rolled back the price to $30-something, just an FYI.

I heard the new leap pad will be HTF.

All 3 boys have asked for Cars 2 Legos but I haven't noticed those being out of stock anywhere yet. The Lego police station is usually very hard to find close to Christmas time.

My friend's DD is obsessed with the LaLaLoopsy. Seems to be very popular with the 7-8 year old girls crowd.
