I am working on our souvenier budget, what kinds of things did you buy and if you can remember, about how much did things cost? How much would you budget for souveniers for 2 adults and 2 kids? We are on the 3 night cruise.

We usually buy:

1.photo album or scrapbook - $20.00
2. ref. magnet with year and picture hole- $6?
3. any new large snow globe that we dont have - $55-$85
4. 1 or 2 plush toys - $12 each
5. DW likes Judith Jack line of DCL marcasite jewelry - she bought Mickey ears ring last cruise - a bargain at $50

I would say to budget about $250.00-$300.00 for onboard souveniers....

Captain Mickey antenna topper ~$5 (reminds me every day of DCL!)
Pictures, pictures and more pictures $10 for 6x8, $20 for 8x10
year magnet ~$6
excellent DCL sweatshirt, no waistband, zipper, $35
~$40 things my DD8 wanted

Also look at the bargins they have onboard. We found some very nice Polo shirts that were orginal price 36 and were marked down to 16.99!

Definately figure into your souvenir budget the cost of pictures from Shutters!!! Even if you take your own, theirs are great. Don't forget an album or scrapbook to put them in.

And then there are the pins. There are some are unique to DCL, and some that are limited editions.

Depending on how much of a pin addict you become, you can spend $ or $$$.

The souveniers that we came home with:

Ship Souveniers:
**Wonder t-shirts with picture of ship on front and character signatures on back (about $20)
**Scrapbook album(about $24)
**2003 x-mas ornament ($12)
**Mickey Hands
**Mickey stuffed doll
**Postcards
**Shutter photos
**Sail a way drink glasses(plastic but cute)

Nassau Souveniers:
**Del Sol store---2 t-shirts and a necklace(about $60)

Free Souveniers:
**Disney Napkins
**Gold foil wrappers from night time chocolates(they have a picture of the WDW castle on them)
**Key cards
**Dinner rotation tickets
**Navigators
**Mr. Toad's Wild Race participation ribbons
**Pins-Crew members carry them with them and will ask trivia questions during Bingo, learn to draw lessons and so forth
**Go to the learn to draw class and come home with a portriat of Mickey Mouse drawn by you and your family members
**Room Stationary
**luggage tags
**sea shells from Castaway Cay

>>>>>>>On Castway Cay there are island craft gift stores along with regular stores with items like t-shirts, shorts, goggles, giant beach blanket checkers, spray bottles and so forth.

We like to buy a Christmas tree ornament to remind us of the places we've been. Then, when our kids are older, we can tell them stories of our adventures and remember them ourselves as we decorate our tree each year. We bought a beautiful Christopher Radko ornament last year depicting the Disney Magic (or Wonder). Kind of pricey--around $50--but something we will always have and pass down someday (if it never gets broken). A nice way to spend your onboard credit if you got one through your booking agent or for being a first-time cruiser.

One important thing to remember about the DCL items - they are generally only available on the ship so if you see something that you really like, get it right away.

I bought this HUGE coffee mug on CC--the biggest one I've ever seen! It's GREAT! I use it at work and constantly get comments on how HUGE it is LOL! It's a great ice breaker to take into meetings.

I also got: (from the ship)

A DCL watch (I collect Disney watches)

A DCL charm for my charm bracelet

A DCL Radko ornament

A hooded sweat jacket for DS (the price was remarkably reasonable)

A DCL golf shirt for DH

A DCL photo album

A bunch of DCL only pins for DS and myself

I'm sure there wre a few other things I picked up for DH and DS, can't remember what right now.

On St. Martin we bought tropical wear for all of us, plus two beautiful framed watercolors for DS's bathroom. We also got a bottle of Dom Perignon for $60 or so...that was a BARGAIN!

On St. Thomas we bought some magnets and other small trinkets to take home to friends and the coworker who watered my plants while I was gone. And a great t-shirt with an Iguana on it for our pet sitter who has pet iguanas. :)

I'd say you could easily give each kid a $50 limit and they will be able to come home with a t-shirt and a few other trinkets. And as the other poster pointed out, the little keepsakes are actually some of the best souveniers. :)

Wow outstanding suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Does anyone know if DCL has Nomination bracelet charms onboard?

My favorite souvenirs from DCL are.....

the free towels I received as a CC member

the Magic mug

CC towels I bought

CC sleeveless Ts

Our family picture from Shutters

My recommendation about shutters is if you have a digital camera, take it with you to shutters. Group your pictures together and sit in the corner. Compare your pictures to theirs. I Threw out 12 of their pictures because I had the exact same one in my camera. One of the cast members came by and told me I couldn't do what I was doing (he thought I was taking a picture of theirs), but when I explained that I was comparing it was fine. 10 Pictures cost me $85. I would probably have bought the other 12 if I hadn't know that I had them already.

We left the ship with a $650 charge to my credit card at the end of the 4-day cruise.

$85 at shutters
around $260 Tips (party of 5).
Maybe 4 drinks $20
and $80 for Bingo
total $410
the rest was souvenirs and we went on a budget(kinda).

Hope this helps

Yes, they sell the Italian Link Charms onboard...not really the Nomination brand, but they fit the bracelets....they have a bunch of Disney characters, but none of the ship, which I wanted.

If you want to know what stuff you can only get on the ship or on Castaway Cay jus task a CM. There are 6 pins on CC that you can only get there. I asked the guy at the register, just to be sure which ones they were. I'm not a pin collector, but something like that is worth buying...if nothing else...ebay here I come! I doubt that will be anytime soon though, they are pretty cool pins.

Don't forget the Gummi Mickey Ears! Not necessarily a Souviner, per se, but yummy just the same. We brought back a few bags for friends and or ourselves.

I was just telling my husband yesterday that it was sad that we were out of them now, so we need to hurry up and get back to Disney World or the ship! :)

On the subject of candy that you can only get on the ship or at Disney - have you ever had Pooh's Honey Pots? A CM on the cruise told us about them and I love them. Milk chocolate with soft carmel inside. Yum!

mmouse ~
I bought 3 ship charms on the Magic ~ they are very well made and quite heavy. I think they were around $ 40 each and they say "magic" on the bottom of the ship. they were in a case with the fine jewelry.

Wow, that's great. I received a bracelet this year from my students and a charm or two from the ship would be a great idea!
