Trying to plan breakfasts for our trip. We're going to do Akershus for my daughter and Chef Mickey's for my son.

I need some other ideas for "cheaper" breakfasts. We'll be staying at POR, so I figure we'll eat there some days, but what are some other places we should check out? Maybe some places at the parks or other resorts...any recommendations of specific food items?

I don't want to come home and have someone say, "why didn't you eat breakfast at....., that's the best place to eat breakfast in Disney World!"

We love the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at O'hana. They have great juice and pineapple bread... yummy... it's a must do for us since we tried it a few trips ago.

Tonga Toast at the Poly. You can get it at Kona Cafe (a TS restaurant) but you can also get it at Captain Cook's, which is the Poly's CS place. :thumbsup2

EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!!

Guess I didn't think of this, but am I allowed to eat at Poly's CS (Captain Cook's) if I am not staying at that resort?

The ham egg and cheese croissant sandwiches from Main Street Bakery in MK...my goodness are they amazing. The ham is sliced thin and not salty at all, the cheese is stuffed into the little egg omelette and when you bite into it the cheese gets oozy goozy in your mouth and ......hmmm I need to stop now, I am having a moment :rotfl:

I second the tonga toast at Kona. Also the macadamia nut pancakes at Kona are AWESOME!!!!!!!

Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast . OMG It's great :worship:

The cinnamon bun at Main Street Bakery in MK - it's HUGE and oh, so good!

For quick on-the-run breakfasts in the parks - Main St Bakery in MK, Starring Rolls Cafe in DHS, the bakery in France or Norway (but after 11am - they don't open til then) in Epcot or Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery in AK.

Another vote for the Tonga Toast. But also...

We love the Crumb Cakes at the Boardwalk Bakery. We almost always stop by there at the beginning of our trip and stock up on about 4 cakes for breakfasts in the room during the week. Of course, we usually stay in DVC villas, but I'm sure you could still eat them one morning in a room at POR.

And at POFQ's Floatworks, the Beignets are usually pretty good.

Oh yeah DUH - thanks DopeyDave for reminding me - Boardwalk Bakery! Since we try to stay at Swan or Dolphin this is a GREAT way to start the day, people watching from The Boardwalk Bakery. It's fun to see the hustle & bustle of everyone starting another day in WDW. Then it's just a quick stroll over the bridge into Epcot!

There's a frosted cherry turnover available at the resorts that's just awesome. I'm not usually a big breakfast person but I love those things.

They have that at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery in AK as well - delicious! I also love the chocolate croissants they have all over too.

Yep. You can eat at the food court or the CS at any resort. Same for the TS restaurants too.

Another favorite are the cherry turnovers at the main street bakery. Yum!!

For a fun sit down breakfast, I love Boma at AKL. The frunch is awesome!! Its also less expensive than the character buffets.

You aren't that far from the POFQ.
Try walking down there and getting some of the Beignets.
I did this several times last year. They are similar to a fried dough.

I didn't have the Tonga toast but I did have the Big Kahuna Breakfast at Kona and it was soooo good!

Chocolate croissants. Yum, yum, yum! I think I had one every morning of our last trip. We aren't big breakfast eaters in our family, so one of those with a glass of milk was just right for me.
