my DH and i just desided about an hour ago that we will go to disney from dec 23rd-dec 28th.this is our 4th disney trip but our first time at christmas.what is some thing we should do.our childrens ages will be DS 8yo in a wheel chair,DS 2 1/2 years old and DD will be 11 months.im sure there will be lots to do but what??i dont want to miss out on anything.thanks for your help!

What a wonderful time of year to go!! Good for you!! Most people will probably suggest going to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and I can understand why. It has the appeal of being something extra special for the holidays. We were there last year from Dec 9th to 15th and we attended MVMCP. The fireworks were wonderful and the parade not too bad. Our problem was that it rained, the whole night. It was hard to enjoy everything and we paid all that money, but never got the benefit of the rides etc.. I would probably not go again, but since we have now been it is easier to say. With your children's ages you may want to spend the money on a Character Meal instead.

We did get DDs (3.5) picture taken with Santa in DTD, so that is a good staple. There is a tree lighting ceremony and a reading of the Christmas Story to. I think that is in Epcot. Of course, they have the carolers to. The Osbourne lights in MGM were wonderful and I think the kids would enjoy that, plus the snow!!!

You could each get a special Christmas ornament for your tree at home and have it personalized. If you do that go to the Christmas Shoppe in MK, not DTD. The wait list at DTD is usually several weeks at Christmas time for personalization, but in MK it was just a few hours.

Whatever you do have a wonderful time!!

you are going so close to Christmas that the parade will have changed over to the holiday parade at that time anyways. With the ages of your kids, it's just too late of a night to make spending the $$$ worth it, IMHO. I realize that there are a few other things you may not get to see by skipping it, like a show in front of the castle, for example, but Disney is so full of Christmas sprirt that you won't know what you're missin' and your kids won't be so cranky from being overtired. :goodvibes

We'll be there at the same time as you (with DS 6 and twin DSs 2) and I plan on the Candlelight processional in EPCOT, the Osbourne lights in MGM, the Christmas parade in MK (they may actually be showing this at 12:30 and 3pm during Christams week as they did last year), and the evening fireworks, of course, if we have a sleep in the next day.

We also have a day planned to resoort hop on the monorail loop to see the decorations at the GF, Cont. and Poly. I know the GF has a life size Gingerbread house and I think the Contemporary has a life size Chocolate display of Pinnocchio (not sure).

I'm sure you'll have a great time...I know I cannot wait!  :santa:
