Well hello there folks! We haven't been to Dl in qute a few years. The kids are now 10 and 6 (we had annual passes for Disneyworld but I have to admit a certain nostalgic favoritism for DL). Now I know a few things have been added since four years ago. I have a booking from Macrh 27 - 30 at Grand Californian DVC Studio and will have military tix. I understand I can use magic hours and remember most rides very well, especially ones NOT at DW and my favorite DL vs DW rides preferences!
Is there anything special I should do this time around? I am a little lost. Would like a cool dining experience (not princesses or goofys kitchen) and with standing room only at WOC I am not too keen on that for my son especially (ASD kid).
Any particular recommendations? Any tours or dining/events I should not miss during this time? Any special nights at DTD DL? I read about the TT MM tickets and applied on the forum to a thread regarding this, otherwise a nit LOST!
Its been too long!

You might try the Fantasmic Dessert package. It gets you actual chairs and a dessert box to snack on during the show.

For WoC if you get a Guest Assistance Card for you DS you can view from one of the HA areas that are less crowded and if early you can sit on a bench. Besides this you will still need to get WoC Show tickets.
WoC Superthread

Aim to see the superior to WDW Fireworks too.

Also since you are staying onsite you can enter DCA through the entrance that is connected to the GCH. Hotel guests can enter an hour early, this may change but for a long time have had a jump on the front gate guests. Soarin will open as will Little Mermaid. You can also get WoC show tickets then.

From a very disppointed F! fan at DW to a very happy one at DL I really like the idea of that dessert viewing - thank you. I can't remember what I think about the fireworks at DL vs DW (I just remember wind being a real problem at DL) but my favorite fireworks at at MNSSHP anyway, you betcha I'll be watching them though at DL :)
I did not know about that special area, perhaps this will be doable for us after all. He will have a GAC (get them here in DW) I assume from Guest assistance at DL? Either way, thank you for the info!
Think you hit the nail on the head!

Yes go to guest services in either park. City Hall gets a long line so it can be a time saver to do it in DCA.

It's in a small building (trailer like) along the new entrance path just inside the gates in DCA. Though by the time you are there is may be relocated depending on how construction progresses, so keep on eye on that as you dates approach.

Just in case you haven't gotten through the WoC superthread and to help avoid confusion. The HCA areas are in every viewing zone.

After viewing Fantasmic, assuming you get the reserved seats for the early show, stay in your seats for the fireworks. The view was really good.

Ps - if you get the reserved seats, they say check in for you seats begins at 8 and you actually reserve your seats and then come back for the show. The only catch is that the front row is gone by 8 so get in line early for the 8pm check in. I can't say how early though as we got there at 8 and were in the 2nd row. The 3rd row is good too because you can stand.
