Must dos & don't bothers

Must Do:
Skyline
Currents
Skyline
Pirate costume
Skyline
Palo
Skyline
Laps around the Promenade to burn off all the Skyline drinks

Don't Bother:
Anything that you just don't feel like doing, other than Muster.

I guess you guys know where I can be found at night, at least until it closes and I have to go to Meridian's outside deck to smoke a cigar.

Lots of good recommendations for Rainforest... I'm guessing you book your day passes once on board?

It had been my understanding that DAY passes had to be purchased in advance through the in-room shopping link on the DCL page and only length of cruise passes were sold on board, but recently people have reported buying day passes on board. If you KNOW you just want a one day pass, I would buy it early just in case they don't sell day passes on your sailing.

This will be our second cruise... our first was on Halloween last year on the Dream. This will be a 7 nighter on the Fantasy!

Must Do's:
Every Show
Ship Tour
Palo Brunch
Remy Dinner
BBB & Pirates League
Lunch on Castaway Cay (we docked late last time and they cancelled lunch on us)
Room Service Breakfast at least ONE morning
Fish Extender
tour teen clubs
Rainforest day pass
Wake up early one morning to catch sunrise

Don't Do's:
Trick or Treating on the ship... horribly organized (instead join a group and organize your own cabin to cabin trick or treating... much more fun)
Forget to book another on board (as in don't forget to do that)
Overpack

Should this list include ports or just while on the ship? If ports too, what ports do you have planned for your next cruise?

I hadn't even thought about that! We are going to Nassau and CC. Haven't been to either since our last crusie didn't stop at CC :-(

I'm loving the ideas here. Bingo doesn't seem very popular (and that was on my maybe) and the rainforest room does (also on my maybe list if I can get away from my youngest for that long ;-)

3 or 4 night? If you plan on getting off the ship in Nassau and CC you won't have much time for everything else (shows, Palo, Rainforest, ect..). Just don't overbook or pay for something you won't get to enjoy. We ended up skipping the show on the last night because it was just too much to try to get luggage in the hallway, customs papers done, dinner, pics at shutters, taking care of some business at customer service, last minute shopping, etc... It just goes by way too fast. ::yes::

3 night. We do plan on getting off both days, but probably only for a short time in Nassau. DH wants to do the fort tour. My youngest is a 12 year-old with autism who didn't leave my side last cruise. So, sadly, Palo isn't an option for us. The shows were a big hit with the whole family on our last cruise, and the ones on the Magic will all be new for us. DS 14 is thrilled about CC so I imagine we will be there most of that day.

In that case I hope you booked a 4-night, including the Sea-day. Otherwise you shouldn't bother about anything, because a 3 nighter will be over before you realize.
The one thing you should do is book your next cruise while on board to do all the things you will not have time for :lmao:

I'm surprised bingo is on so many don't lists.

While I am not going to go crazy to make sure we do it on our cruise, my family had a lot of fun at bingo on our last cruise. It was great laughs and fun playing together. one of the kids was on the machine the other had the paper cards and DH and I oversaw to make sure nothing was missed. The hosts were funny That being said I don't think I would do more than a couple of times because it adds up $$$

Though I don't smoke, I like hanging out at Meridian. Even during the day. It's nice and quiet up there with fewer people making the trek to find it. It's like your own personal adult area... :)

I don't voluntarily play BINGO anywhere. It's just not my idea of fun at all - much less if you have to actually spend money to do it.

Yup, and I usually have a flask or three somewhere on my person...

I agree. Not normally our thing either. :) but we enjoyed it on the cruise.

Must do:

Must wake up one morning at sea for sunrise...deck is practically empty and so serene!

Same theme, get sunset pictures against islands at port...gorgeous!

Don't bother:

Pools...unless it's the adult pool, not so crowded there and you can enjoy some quiet time. If you have little ones, you'll have to visit pools :)

Bingo..we actually enjoyed the one time they offer a free card per guest...we of course got sucked in to buying a $60 package...but they were very entertaining..didn't win a thing :)

We enjoyed everything, pools included. We didn't bother going to movies. Wouldn't want to spend our vacation time sitting and watching something we could watch when back at home. Also didn't bother with Bingo.

Must Do's:
Dinner in the MDRs (Palo brunch and/or dinner)
All the evening shows (even after so many cruises I still love to go)
One of the mixology/drink tasting seminars
Visiting all the adult lounges (love Skyline)
Satellite Falls
Cove Cafe for a few Chai Lattes during the week and cheese and crackers
Visiting the shops onboard
Relax on Deck 4 and the upper decks

Maybes:
Hot tub (adult area)
Movies if I have time (I love going to the movies onboard)

Dont's
Spa (not a spa person)
Bingo (while fun, hate spending the money on it)

Me either. I put Bingo in the same category as gambling and the lottery. To me it's like flushing money down the toilet. DH's family is totally into it and don't understand why I don't like it.

This is such a subjective issue obviously. I would never want to spend hours finding characters & taking pictures but it was a highlight for my kids & they talk about that more than anything else we did.

I can't imagine going to the movie theatre unless it was raining & we were forced inside. I can go to
the movies at home.

My husband is not into the nightly shows & I was done after the first two. The best thing we did the entire cruise was skip the last show & went swimming at night. We had the pools all to ourselves (no lie, they were empty) and we rode the Aquaduck 10x without waiting. They had movies on the big screen and no worries about sunscreen, hot sun, hot decks, etc. The ship looks even more magical at night!

one thing I won't do again...cabanas buffet on embarkation day.. ZOO! we couldnt even find a table & everyone is dragging around their luggage. That turned us off of the buffet right away. Next time we will go right when they open for lunch or breakfast to score a table.

I loved the rainforest room but I enjoy treating myself with spa time. It is probably not for everyone. I bought a one-day pass before we went & it was awesome! I had the whole place to myself (it was even a sea day!) & I was almost lonely :-)
