What is anyone's must do at DL or DCA? Rides, shows, food etc? We're going for the first time in 25 years! It'll be in 2 weeks so it has to be stuff not summer. Thanks!

Indy in DL, the Soundsational Parade, and Remember Dreams Come True which are much better than their WDW counterparts. Take the time to get a good view of the fireworks where you can see the Castle and Matterhorn, if will be running on Friday to Sunday only. Many of the rides in DL are different than thier MK couterparts so you might try them too. Revisit Mr. Toad while you have a chance. Pirates of the Carribean is much better in DL, if you don't remember this you might want to refresh your memory. Also maybe eat at Blue Bayou near the waters of POTC.

In DCA, for sure World of Color. You can ride the little mermaid before the one in MK opens. Also Toy Story and Soaring though the same have much shorter lines. If you like Fantasyland style dark rides and Monsters Inc, thier ride is great. California Screamin is a great roller coaster.

Also you can ride in the front and back of the monorail at DLR.

For food, DLR is has changed a lot of menus to some tasty items. Hungry Bear, Village Haus, Jolly Holiday Bakery, (<-DL DCA->)Boardwalk Pier Pizza and Pasta and the Paradise Garden Grill have the new stuff. I like the Alfresco Lounge in DCA to get a drink and snack at.

If you are a big fan, A Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour may be a good option.

Soarin', Aladdin and corn dogs and maybe a Monte Cristo!

Love me a hot link corn dog at the DCA Corn Dog Castle.

As mentioned, WoC is amazing and not to be missed, but one of the things my family truly enjoys that we missed the first few times we went was a Bugs Life. I wont spoil any of the surprises, but it is really fun.

And also Aladdin is really great, after our recent first trip to WDW, none of the stage shows comes close.

My favorites are Indy and Soaring, but there are alot of hidden gems such as Billy Hill and the Hill Billies and in California Adventure they have a set up where they teach you to draw famous characters (it is actually alot of fun!). Have a great trip!

In Disneyland, when you ride the Mark Twain, ask the CM at the turn-style if you can help the Captain sail the ship. Four people can go up and it is awesome!!!!

In CA, be sure to catch the Tower of Terror!!

Soarin' is amazing!! Be sure to ask to sit in the front row.
My other faves are Splash Mountain and Indiana Jones.
Don't miss the cinnamon buns at the bakery on Main Street.
We always do the lunch with the princesses at Arial's Grotto. The food is very good.

Mine are fireworks and fritters in New Orleans square. I always have to have my picture taken with Mickey cause he's my favorite.

" CRUSH ", Aladdin, Tower of terror, Hot link Corndog at the CornDog Castle in DCA, POC, Screeamin!, I could go on for a couple hours. You get the idea..:cool1:

Don't forget, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at the Golden Horseshoe. This is a really good show. Full of live music, comedy and all around entertaining time for the entire family. We never miss it.

BTW, have a fantastic time!

If you like the Billy's show, be sure to go to the gift shop next door to the Golden Horseshoe and request the "Billy's Live" cd. Where else can you get "Ticket to Ride" performed on a fiddle/banjo w/base guitar and Orange Blossom special on the same cd? I purchased several and gave them as presents to family and friends which are very difficult to buy gifts for.:cool1:

At Disneyland:
Be sure to see the Tiki Room show - it's the original (in Florida, they have the new version)

All the Fantasyland rides, esp Mr. Toad's.

Indy - they don't have this one in Florida.

at CA Adventure:

Monsters. Inc. Tough to be a Bug, Little Mermaid, Tower of Terror AND Soarin' - the best ride ever!

I love the "classic" Disneyland attractions that you won't find at WDW -

Sleeping Beauty Castle walk through

Alice in Wonderland

Storybook Land boats

Snow White's Scary Adventures (closed permanently at WDW)

It's a Small World (better than the WDW version)

Actually the Tiki Room in FL has been returned to it's former glory now as well-- no more "Under New Management". Just returned from seeing the show while I was in the world for the WDW Half Marathon. Was happy to see the show sans Iago ;)

Hydroguy's Tips are always worth looking at for sure. My personal favorites are Disneyland, which are also unique there are, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Alice, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Mr Toad's Wild Ride, INDIANA JONES, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, and the new Star Wars .

You must ride all of the attractions at California Adventure ! Tower of Terror, Grizzly River Run, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, California Screamin', Mickey's Fun Wheel, and Monsters Inc.!

ENJOY! :wizard:

They closed Snow White in WDW?

Indy, Pirates, Jungle Cruise AT NIGHT, Fantasyland (all of it) Haunted Mansion, If you're into it..breadbowls of clam chowder at French Market (MMMM), CHURRO, Silhouette made as a souvenir.

In CA- Soarin', Tower of Terror, Turtle Talk was super cute and I agree with Tough to be a Bug.
