Must do unique souvenirs/gift shops to see

If you buy a snow globe, remember you can not take them on the plane. Have them shipped home. I really like Trend-D store in DTD

One of the best souvenirs I got was many years ago. Someone bought me a Mickey Mouse waffle iron and had it shipped home. I think it was bought in a store in Magic Kingdom, right by Haunted Mansion. I have no idea if the store or the waffle iron is still there any more, but I would think you could get one somewhere. We use it all the time.

Last time we were there, I got a Christmas ornament. I'm sure I'll buy one next time too.

Other souvenirs I've bought include a Mickey Mouse spatula (bought somewhere in Epcot WS), a Mickey Mouse bottle opener, and a Mickey Mouse pizza cutter. I like small, practical souvenirs that I can use (and remind me of Disney) all the time. But I do pressed pennies, too.

I also like to buy souvenirs that are useful. We almost always buy a picture frame and then put one of our vacation photos in it. We have been buying mugs for a while, but probably won't this year...you can only use so many mugs.:rotfl: But they are a great reminder of our trips! We also get an ornament each year, usually with the date. I usually like to get a t-shirt too. Last December I bought a warm scarf that really gets noticed with people asking where they can get one. (wish I had purchased the pj pants that matched!)

Love your idea of Mickey ears and crystal.:thumbsup2 I think you'll be pleased with those. Oh! and I usually bring an empty zippered tote bag with me so I can cram all my purchases in it and use it as carry on for the trip home.:woohoo: Have fun!:dance3:

ETA: I also get kitchen things such as measuring cups, measuring spoons and plates. My granddaughter loves helping me cook using these items. Makes it lots of fun!

Store is still there. It is after the exit of the Haunted Mansion on the way to Small World

I always buy pins (can't trade them tho) and the last 2 trips I've bought the 9 inch plain Vinylmations to get signed.

everywhere we go I get a sweatshirt. We also get a magnet and a christmas ornament. We also get a keychain for each of the kids from everywhere we go with them. We get ones that we can write the date on the back so they can collect them.

Thanks for all your input.... it's greatly appreciated.... I also read that the scrapbooking store is no longer there and read it kinda sucked.

So far my list of things I'd like to see/purchase are:
- hoodie
- kitchen/housewares
- christmas ornament
- Crystal Arts
- mouse ears

We already have plenty of Disney mugs and I'm pretty sure BF will probably find one or 2 at WDW that he'd love to add to our collection.

I like all my Mickey jewelry and you can get necklaces and earrings at just about any souvenir shop. But I found the nicest earrings made of Swarovski crystal for only $29 at the shop on the lagoon side of Germany. I tried ordering more when I got home but it was the ONE item they didn't offer through the phone ordering system! While you can buy most items by calling, the items there were not available by phone. So I can't wait to go back and get some really nice jewelry from that store again!

We always get a clip magnet with the year on it for the fridge, a photo frame to put our favorite picture from that trip in, and a pin to put on my park bag that represents that trip. Those are the must haves, but I tend to go shopping crazy at Disney!

I always buy a magnet and a Christmas Ornament also, in addition I always pick up a new Mickey Tie at Downtown Disney. My wife has to keep me in control or I will buy everything. On my next trip I will probably try to mix it up a little. :yay:

I loved Picking a Pearl. I had mine set into a ring that I wear often. I also love getting Disney picture frames (MouseGears in Epcot has a great selection) to display our trip pictures at home.

Love the 40th year anniversary souvies that are currently being sold :goodvibes

Hi all,

I will be going to Disney World for the first time in February with BF... I'm super excited! I'm in the process of budgeting our spending money now and I'm curious to hear from all of you what your favourite gift shops and/or souvenirs are.

We are definitely getting a pair of Mickey Ears, I totally want to do Pick A Pearl in Epcot, and visiting Crystal Arts is also on my to do list... I really love the glass work on the arribas brothers website!

What other souvenirs/gift shops would you suggest as we're first time Disney goers and I really appreciate art e.g. the souvenirs available at Crystal Arts.

TIA!

I'm a *huge* Mickey Mouse fan and have a collection displayed in my house. I also love the counties of Epcot. This next time when I go, I plan to get a Mickey from each country. I wish I'd done it last time, but I only picked up one in Germany. They're relatively inexpensive, if memory serves. I think they were about $10 each for a 6 or 8" Mickey. And the cool part is that they're dressed in the traditional attire for the country.

I also may get a similar Mickey from the other parks that are unique. I got a Jedi Mickey the lat time, and the time before I got one at Animal Kingdom with Mickey in his Safari outfit.

I think this time I want to collect as many different Mickeys (and matching Minnies if they have them) from different parks and countries as a reminder of those parks/places.

I love picking the pearl. My tip for that is I bought my own sterling silver chain at Walmart (after the trip) b/c it was much cheaper to buy it there than at Japan.

ENJOY!

I love the idea of the different Mickeys from the countries and parks. :)

I wanted add that one of my favorite FREE souveniors is something we got from the last trip. At Hollywood Studios, in the World of Animation building, they offer FREE drawing "classes" with different animators. It lasts about 25 minutes, and they walk you step-by-step through drawing a character. The results are priceless.

My boys even got the "sample" one the animator drew-- she autographed and dated it for them.

So much FUN and FREE!!! Can't beat that! :cool1:

I'm definitely doing pick-a-pearl and the animation academy :) I'd love to frame mine and BF's drawings after :)

I live in England and came to wdw when my son was 6 months, we brought him a 2006 Mickey, since then we have brought him one every year by either going ourselves or getting family friends to bring them back for us. My daughter was born 2008 and she has all the Minnies from each year. We are going to WDW in June so will be getting our 2011 Mickey and Minnies then.
I have a mickey beer bottle opener and bottle stop that I love from DTD Mickey cook shop (can't remember the proper name).
Have a great time x

Check out Morocco in Epcot for beautiful unique jewelry. This last trip I splurged and got my sister and I fantastic Dooney and Bourke wristlets but thats a bit pricey....worth it but still pricey!
