Must-do Things At World Showcase...

The shop in Japan. Dd and I have several kimonos from there. Also about 20+ years ago dh and I found a painting in either China or Japan of 2 cats that looked exactly like the 2 cats we had at the time. A caligrapher there wrote our cats names on the painting in Chinese or Japanese (I honestly can't remember which one it was) but it is a beautiful painting, especially now that those 2 cats are long gone.
If you take a picture of it and post it here, I can (probably) help you identify which country, if that's of interest to you. I'm Korean but can tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese, with the one caveat that there is one alphabet used by the Japanese that is based on Chinese characters. But more than likely, I'll be able to tell. If you want. :)

Actually since we just moved into our house 1 1/2 years ago and will be moving again (to Orlando) in 2 years we are not even bothering to unpack a lot of our stuff, including all wall hangings, paintings, pictures, etc so it is packed away. Thanks for the offer tho.

There are 2 things I love doing there - walking through the shops at Morocco and going through the store in Japan. I could easily spend hours in those two placss!

This is me!! I also love to pick pearl in Japan.

United Kingdom: fish and chips, Kids do the maze. Photos in the phone booths. Great bathroom break stop area, we always find these washrooms supremely clean.

Where is the maze in UK? We have never come across this and I'm sure my kids would love to do it.

Ham and cheese croissant in France. It's the best deal in WS. :)

Buying Leila (perfume) in Norway.

Shrimp creole in America. They call it something else but, that is what it is. They added this to the menu not too long ago and man o man is it good!

All of the shops in England.

Nachos on the deck in Mexico.

Buying DH a bottle of Lemon Cello in Italy.

Gazing at the gardens in Canada and dreaming that that is my yard. Man are they beautiful.

Sitting on the shady benches and people watching while DS is in the store in Japan. Apparently, I am the only human around that totally dislikes that store. :rotfl: DS could move in there!

Go to the very "back"(Upper Regency Street and Tudor Lane) of the UK Pavilion to the "Bandstand" where British Revolution plays.

The Hedge Maze is "around" the "Bandstand".

One of my favorite spots in all of WDW-love to watch the kids running around the Hedge Maze while BR is playing with Guests dancing to the groove.

Alice has even been known to drop by and dance to BR.

Good times.:)

This is what a very good friend of mine told us to do at world showcase

  • Explore every pavilion. You’d be amazed at how far back each of them go. I still haven’t seen everything there.
  • Sign up for Agent P – The missions are by pavilion, so you can start with the UK
  • Canada – Watch the movie (Martin Short)
  • UK – British Invasion (if playing) and shops, atmosphere
    • Also a very quiet/hidden Pooh meet and greet in the back – just ask a CM
  • France –
    • Impressions de France movie…this movie is a favorite of ours. The theater has nice, comfy seats and the movie itself is beautiful.
    • Snacks! The bakery in France is a fantastic place to grab a snack/cheap lunch. You can also buy a baguette for a few bucks…great snack to carry around through the day. They also have huge sandwiches for cheap.
    • Ice Cream. Just google it.
  • Morocco – Just explore this one…it’s gorgeous and the courtyard is so peaceful.
  • Japan – Shop. Seriously, it’s amazing!
  • USA – Voices of Liberty are absolutely phenomenal. I would catch at least 1 of their performances (2 if possible) and then watch The American Adventure.
  • Italy – Enjoy the shops, performances (if any scheduled)
  • Take boat from Italy to the front of World Showcase and start back towards Germany (because we have a late ADR in Germany it makes sense to skip to Mexico via the boat and work back to Germany and do it last.)
  • Mexico – Gran Fiesta Tour, shops, La Cava de Tequila has chips and queso and Tequila
  • Norway – Shops, snacks
  • China – Reflections of China Movie, shops
