Must-do Things At World Showcase...

Oh we spend a full day and many evenings in world showcase! I'll go by country. I will also note, we get the Epcot passports and my girls LOVE them and getting them signed and placing the stickers with the right countries.

Mexico: frozen margarita..don't drink too fast...you will feel very special otherwise.

Norway: Used to Maelstrom :( Now we just check out the shop and expensive stuffed animals!

China: Buy a new set of chopsticks each (something we use weekly..it's become a favorite souvenir). Meet Mulan. Get a drink from the tea cart. Acrobats!

Germany: Caramel store for something yummy!!!! Usually split, as we find it too sweet to enjoy alone. Buy my diabetic dad some sugar free werthers :) We can't buy them here, not that I've found anyways.

Italy: DD loves the entertainers here. We also like the fun photo ops.

The American Adventure: usually lunch lol.

Japan: Watch the candy lady. Buy chopsticks and soy sauce dishes here, as well as some fun candies. My girls always do pick a pearl and love the ceremony that goes with it.

Morocco: Browse the store. Meet Aladdin and Jasmine. Photo by the gorgeous fountain. We lucked out with a photopass person here one time, one of our favorite framed family pictures!

France: Pasteries, enough said. My daughters browse the perfume and makeup. Rest by the fountain.

United Kingdom: fish and chips, Kids do the maze. Photos in the phone booths. Great bathroom break stop area, we always find these washrooms supremely clean.

Canada: Picture with the Gardens.

I'm sure there is more, but I can't recall.

- The Voices of Liberty followed by The American Adventure
Or even Voices of Liberty *without* the AmAdv. I usually see the Voices 9-10 times during the course of a trip, but the attraction only once.
And the thing that will really make a visit to the rotunda is sticking around and visiting with the performers after the set. They are some of my favorite people anywhere.

Akershus Princess lunch is honestly our only must do. I do love Voices of Liberty, though, and try to see.

Here's my list:

- The Voices of Liberty followed by The American Adventure
- Walking around Morocco for the shopping
- The Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride and walking around the Mexico pavilion (I love taking pictures in the sombreros and playing the musical instruments)
- Taking a picture of me picking the nose of the troll in the shop in Norway,
- Everything in the UK
- Looking at the art and architechure in Italy
- Impressions de France
- Looking at the gardens and browsing the hockey mercahndise in Canada

Does anyone know if the WS Japan store with Pick-A-Pearl is open during the extra evening magic hours?

With the passport - the CMs will also write a name in the country's language. My kids got a kick out of the Canadian written language. : o ) No really - the Japanese and Chinese characters in the passports are cherished. You can purchase the passport package in the port store between future and world showcase.

My favorite is the Twinings tea shop, but then, I'm a tea drinker! I also love the German shops and the American Adventure.

The shop in Japan. Dd and I have several kimonos from there. Also about 20+ years ago dh and I found a painting in either China or Japan of 2 cats that looked exactly like the 2 cats we had at the time. A caligrapher there wrote our cats names on the painting in Chinese or Japanese (I honestly can't remember which one it was) but it is a beautiful painting, especially now that those 2 cats are long gone.

Threads like this used to mention Norway quite a bit. Not any longer. :(

Nowadays I would say Kringla Café in Norway and the bakery in France. I also like wandering around in Morocco and shopping in China and Japan. The interior part of Mexico is nice to see too.
We still love Norway! DH is Scandinavian and my children loved the little viking helmets at the store and other items.

Kringla Cafe' and Akershus are still the only places we eat in WS, we are usually there during F&W and typically snack around the world, but we love to eat in Norway.

I love all WS though. So sad we may miss F&W this year

One of my favorite things about my time in WS is that I don't have a list of must-dos there! As you can see from the PPs lists, many of the countries have fun food, a unique shop, and/or a cool show or performance! I love wandering with no schedule, catching whatever performer is coming up near where I am, people watching, snacking and drinking. My only "must-do" is to try a new thing vs my previous trip. Doing either an Epcot passport, or the Kidcot stops, or an Agent P adventure is a good way to make sure I wander a little farther into a country or look around a bit more once I'm there.

The best thing to do in World Showcase is to find cast members from the Countries and strike up a conversation with them. Ask them about home, ask them about their experience here, welcome them, ask them the best things to see should you visit their home. We have met some wonderful people and it is these many folks from the country that give each pavilion its flavor.

This!!!!:)

They "give" Mickey a year of their lives!:)

They bring the WORLD to WORLD Showcase.

The ICMs ARE World Showcase!!!!

1) Drink around the world
2) Pick a Pearl in Japan
3) Caramel popcorn
