Hiya :wave2:

Am putting my finishing touches to my itinery for July/Aug trip (the sooner I get it finished the sooner my DF can start messing with it :rolleyes2 )

These are my 'must do' rides for our first day which is to be at IOA, Have I missed any out?

The Hulk
Dr Dooms Fearfall
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman

Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls
Popeye & Blutos Bilge-Rat Barges

Jurassic Park River Adventure

Duelling Dragons

We have bought a book of the UE vouchers so will be able to get on the majority at least once without much of a queue so should have plenty of time for any others recommended or at least a couple of re-rides.

NB) At IAO it should just be me & DF, I have been on all the above except Spiderman & Deulling Dragons. DF will not go on roller coasters or Dr Dooms so I will be in single rider queue for them.

I don't think you missed anything except maybe The Cat in the Hat and The Flying Unicorn. They're both "kiddie" rides but my parents rode them and had a good time and they don't like thrill rides either.

Dueling Dragons doesn't have a single queue because you can choose the row you wish to sit in. Personally, I always ride in the second row on either Fire or Ice and don't wait for the front row unless there's no line.

Are you going to the studios as well..or just to IOA?

We will be going to US a few days later, I havent got that far on my plan yet!

Thanks for the tip about no single line on DD, I may give it a miss if there is a ling wait unless it has a UE line.

I wouldn't skip DD..the queue alone is worth the ride! As far as the studios go, I would recommend the following attractions as "don't misses" :

1. Revenge of the Mummy
2. MIB Alien Attack
3. Shrek 4-D (do this one in the morning..the lines can be really long)
4. Twister

There are other attractions like Earthquake, Jaws, ET and Back to the Future but I really wouldn't put any of those on my don't miss list...IMHO.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! :wave2:

Cool deal! The queue at DD is the most elaborate queue I've ever seen! Make sure, when you first enter the castle, to watch the three screens..it tells the whole back story of the ride. Most people are in too big a hurry and they miss it.

What did you think of Dr Doom? It is the only ride we didn't do last time? Everyone wants to go on it this time, though I am bit wary because on a video I saw it clearly shows you come out of your seat at the top. I am a bit scared I am going to feel like I am going to be flung out into the park. :sad2:

i would miss dr doom its really poor, deffo do the cat in the hat other than that i think you've got it covered.

Hiya,

Personally I really liked Dr Doom when I rode last time I was at IOA. You do lift from your seat but you are very well strapped in & never feel unsafe.

Do any of these have express passes? Do they run out early in the day? Thanks.

Most of the popular rides mentioned have express lines. The crowds will determine how fast the passes run out. For example, yesterday about the longest line I saw was 20 mins..no express pass necessary. If you're going on a weekend, I would suggest getting there as early as possible and do the "bigger" rides first since the lines shouldn't be too long.

If the park is busy...yes...you probably won't get an EP for some of the rides. Again, the crowd dictates the demand.

It's not a bad ride...not my favorite since I don't like rides that go straight up and down (i.e ToT and Doom). I prefer the coasters myself! ;)

Thanks for the info on Dr Doom. I don't like the Tower of Terror either.
