In 2014, DH and I left the kids at home for 9 nights where we did the Deluxe Dining Plan and experienced most of the signature restaurants. We went to the Hoop Dee Doo Review, did the Keys to the Kingdom tour, ate around the world during the F&W Festival and watched Hallowishes from the observation deck after dinner at California Grill. It was the best vacation we've ever had!

This September, DH and I are planning another trip to Disney World without the kids, this time 14 nights, staying at a Moderate resort (first time not at a value!) and with the regular dining plan. We plan on trying something from every booth at the F&W Festival, MNSSHP (we've been once before with the kids back in 2012), brunch at the California Grill and maybe a couple more tours (considering Behind the Seeds and DestiNations Discovered).

Does anyone have any other recommendations for us? We really like trying new things and having new experiences so suggestions are most appreciated!

Since 2009 our yearly trips have all been adults only and as Board Walk people we take full advantage of the entertainment on the boards, we'll do an occasional surry bike ride, have a drink or 3 on the balcony of the Belle Vue Lounge and hit Big River and the ESPN Club. We hit Raglan Road on Saturday night as the Food&Wine crowds in WS are insane that day. Of course, Food&Wine is the focus of our trip, we hop there every afternoon but Sat after morning RD elsewhere. One dinner at Cape May during a stay is a given.

Other than that we tour as we did when the kiddies were along, we still hit all the E Ticket rides. Keep in mind that La Nouba closes in Dec if that's on your Bucket List. Fortunately, our children and grand kids join us this Nov. so that will be a treat.

DH and I did our 1st ever adults only trip last June, it was a lot of fun! We tried different things; Jellyrolls at the BoardWalk, Savor the Senses tour at AK, Le Cellier and a cabana at Typhoon Lagoon.

Other things we have tried is an Illuminations cruise, the Desert party at MNSSP, Backstage Magic tour and the Desert party for Starwars.

This trip we are hoping to book the Starwars tour and Highway in the sky. We booked the Savor tour at AK and the cabana at TL again ad they were both wonderful!

One thing I'm planning to do on my next adults-only trip is enjoy the lounges at the deluxe resorts. Crew's Cup at the Yacht Club and Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian come to mind, but I like the idea of having a drink and sharing a few apps/small plates in that atmosphere rather than having a big meal.

I highly recommend Tiffins, or at least Nomad lounge. The meal we had was delicious and a bit adventurous! Plus, it is such a beautiful place in which to dine.

And, I'm super jealous!!! :P

I recommend heading to a MK deluxe resort and renting a boat or doing some water sports!

When we stayed at the contemporary, one day we rented jet skis, another day we went parasailing(unbelievable views of the whole MK area!!), and we also rented the little boats and cruised around Bay Lake and Seven seas lagoon! We were able to cruise right by the front of MK, drive by all the resorts, And the best part is we got a sneak peek at the abandoned River Country water park and Discovery Island.

EDIT to add: you could rent boats at Epcot resorts as well if you're more interested, I'm just not familiar with the experiences there. I believe you can rebut pontoon boats and such as well?

Does anyone have any other recommendations for us?

We do our own monorail tour stopping at Cali Grill, Polynesian and GF and getting apps/drinks in each place culminating with watching the fireworks from one of the resorts. That being said, I cannot say with any confidence that the viewing of the new nighttime firework and projection show will be anything close to what it was with Wishes outside of the park.

4 Parks /1 day
Monorail Bar Ceawl
Wild Afrika Trek
Take a free tour of Boma or Sanaa (4 pm I think) and have dinner at one of them. I recommend Bread Service at Sanaa!

First of all - I am jealous that you will be there for 14 days. I can't even imagine how amazing that will be.

My son is 15 now so he likes to go off on his own so even if it is a "family" trip my DH and I are usually on our own.

In general we like to just take things a lot slower and enjoy the atmosphere instead of racing all over the place trying to get as much done as possible. We spend a lot of time in the gift shops - especially the Art of Disney shops - just appreciating everything you can buy, we don't necessarily buy a whole lot. Instead of doing a lot of table service restaurants we like to sit at the bars of the nicer restaurants and have a few drinks and appetizer or we will split a meal. Of course we like to drink our way around the world. We have also done some tours in the past and on our next trip we are doing the Safari tour and the Backstage tour at AK. We also like to get a bottle of Fairy Tale Cuvee and sit on the balcony of our hotel room and sip champagne. One of my favorite things to do is to rent a spot at the water parks (not the Cabanas, the areas where you get an umbrella and chairs) and sit underneath the umbrella in the shade and color! I bring those designer adult coloring books (I always feel like I have clarify that I am not coloring porn) and some colored pencils and just relax while I color. I have even taken a nap under the umbrella. We take a day to walk around Disney Springs. It's also fun to spend time at the different resorts. We like to walk around and enjoy the details of the resorts and then we will get an adult beverage. Something simple but fun is to just find a bench in a nice, shaded spot and people watch. I think my DH and I laugh the most doing this - not making fun of anyone, but just because WDW tends to bring out both the best and worst of people so you see it all!

My DH and I love spending time together alone at WDW so much we have decided we are moving to the Orlando area as soon as our son is off on his own. We lived in Tampa for a year and went to WDW together all the time and we really miss it now that we are in Houston.

Even though you have already done the keys to the kingdom tour I would recommend it again! Even though the layout of the tour might be similar you could learn all new info based on the tour guide and the questions people in the tour ask

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! This was unbelievably helpful!!

Based on the recommendations, we're definitely going to add:
- Monorail resort tours with gift shop stops and lounge/bar crawl
- Boma dinner AND Sanaa (definitely going to try their bread service after googling pics)
- Tiffins Rivers of Light dining package (adult beverage while watching the show? Yes please!)
- Spend an evening or two checking out the activities on the Boardwalk
- Do the Villains Unleashed Party (please, please, please still be happening when we go)

A few people now have mentioned some of the AK tours so we're going to look in to that as well.

If you're into snorkeling at all, the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour was one of my favorite Disney experiences ever. I would definitely check it out. When you hit the monorail resorts, definitely make a stop at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto in the Polynesian. And Boardwalk is excellent. Have fun! I'm jealous!

Another vote for Jellyrolls!! My youngest DD turns 21 next weekend(last one in the group) and we are planning a weekend trip to Disney. Our plans for her birthday - drinks in Epcot topped off by a visit to Jellyrolls. We finally get to take her so it is a must do for the weekend!

Trader Sams
Abracadbar at Boardwalk
Nomad Lounge
Morimoto, or at least the bar
Homecoming (You could probably eat at the bar or outside without an ADR. Even drinks outside are good there.)
UnDIScovered Future World Tour
Hang out at La Cava (We usually just get a togo margarita when we are with DS. I would love to just sit in there and chill sometime.)
Hall of Presidents (DS hates this, so we usually do it without him. I suspect he might especially refuse this trip after the reopening.)
All of the movies in World Showcase
The American Adventure (Same thing as HOP to DS)
Hang out way too long at the sake bar in the back of Mitsukoshi in Japan at WS and grab a bag of the Meiji Karl Cheese Puffs (I think they are really trying to say cheese curl, not Karl cheese, whatever that would be)

DH and I don't have any kids, so all our trips are adult only. Things we enjoy are sitting at the bar places and chatting with the bartender (if they aren't super busy). Last year we went to the Boardwalk for the first time. We sat at the bar at ESPN for quite a while and had a few drinks and then headed over to check out Abracabar, which was really neat.

Get ready for the trip of a lifetime. I have been to WDW with my children, grandchildren satrting back in 1987. My wife and I decided to do a No-Children vacation in 2013. On the third day we were lounging around the pool in the afternoon and we both looked at each other at the same time and said "Best vacation here ever". We found the freedom of taking our time and really enjoying the parks. We discovered so many things missed in prior trip becaue of the needs of the children. Don't get me wrong. I love my children and grandchildren but we will never go to WDW ever again with them. My advice to you is this, take your time. Look around and enjoy the scenery, the architecture, the activities going on around you. Don't get any fast passes. Instead, if the line is short and you want to go on the ride, do it. We find if the line is longer than a half hour we keep walking. Being without cildren gives you the opportunity to go when the crowds are lighter and to do what YOU want to do. Enjoy.
