DH and I just returned on Saturday from an 8 day 7 night stay in the world May 9-16. My dad and SM joined us for our first 2 days.

ADR’s:
LTT Dinner:
The food was as good as everyone touts it to be. That said, our server was severely in the weeds and we never got drink refills or our 2nd plate of meat (4 people and one little plate of meat) until verrrry long into our meal. Basically our server was MIA.

Y&Y Lunch:
Good not great. This is one of our go-to favorites so I was sad to see it go downhill a bit. The pork buns in the dim sum basket were dry and I’ve honestly had better ones from the frozen section at Trader Joe’s. I had the tikka masala and it was pretty good but I’ve had better at home.

San Angel Inn Dinner:
Pretty good. The service was on point (this always seems to be our experience). The margaritas were awesome. The food was good but not super memorable (like, I literally can’t remember what I ate now). We've been so many times it's starting to run together.

The BOATHOUSE Lunch:
Solid. We sat on the deck where there was a lovely, cool breeze (despite the 96+ degree weather) and a great view of the water and amphicars. We split a lobster roll and 6 oysters. The food was exceptional. The lobster meat was plentiful, fresh and sweet. It comes with yummy shoestring fries. The oysters were lovely.
Complaints: The bartenders were slow with drinks and their Moscow mule was gross. Our oysters came out after our lobster roll?!

Hollywood & Vine Star Wars Dinner:
Horrible. I should have listened to you DIS’ers. The food was just ok (maybe not as bad as everyone else has said) but the meat carving station was a joke. I got decent cuts of medium rare beef and turkey, but DH was given inedible slices of fat. Granted, he should have asked for better pieces, but the CM slicing the meat had an attitude and he wanted to be done with her.
Darth Goofy skipped our table not once but TWICE. We told our server and he just kind of shrugged and walked away. This was the only character we actually wanted a picture with.

Les Halles Dinner:
Wonderful. I had a nice convo en francais with some CM’s there. I had the jambon beurre, DH had the croque monsieur and we split the tartine aux fromages—ask for it warmed up. Everything was great.

Beaches & Cream Snack:
It’s so cute in there! I had a rootbeer float and DH got the mini kitchen sink in the cute Mickey pants. We shared some (awesome) onion rings. Will definitely be back!

Sanaa Lunch:
Very good. The bread service is as good as everyone says; we splurged with full array and I would highly recommend everyone do that. We both enjoyed the butter chicken and I had paneer tikka, while DH had the spicy shrimp. Everything was awesome. We lucked out with great window table and those giraffes and other wildlife were out in full force. They also gave us a cute free dessert for our anniversary.

Edit after DH read this: You undersold the bread service, which was possibly the greatest meal of my life.

Trader Sam’s:
We didn’t have a chance to eat anything here because we were heading to dinner at CG but we stayed for a couple of hours and had a great time. We hung out on the TS’s patio while waiting about an hour to get in. DH had the beer flight outside and I just had a vodka soda. Once inside (which is super cool, btw) we had a tiki(X5) rum, shrunken head, pearl, and Krakatoa. All were delicious, fun and served with flair! Check out @skipperjames on Instagram.

California Grill Dinner:
Exceptional. On par with food served at high end restaurants here in Atlanta. The food and service was on point. We had a lovely sushi roll (spicy tuna, maybe?) then I had the chicken and DH had the scallops. Both were wonderful. We ordered a cheese plate for dessert and they also brought us a nice “Happy Anniversary” crème brulee. The view of the fireworks is incredible and it was a very special anniversary night.
One complaint: I realize there’s (probably) nothing Disney could do about this but...we had a late (9:20 ADR) and were seated about 9:30pm. There was a family diagonally behind me with one (probably very tired) misbehaving child who was about 7-8 years old. He was yelling, running between the tables and ROLLING AROUND ON THE FLOOR. His parents didn’t say boo to him for the entire 45+ minutes he was acting out. This is unacceptable behavior at any restaurant, but certainly not something I would expect to encounter at CG.

Biergarten Dinner:
Very good. I hated the weird German meatloaf but everything else was tasty, fresh and available. The entertainment is as lively as ever.

CS:
Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ: Solid as usual. I was really digging the western breakfast bowl this trip and (of course) those beignets. I’m sad they Joffrey-fied the coffee and have gotten rid of the Café Du Monde coffee they used to serve.

Casey’s: There ain’t nothin’ like a cheese dog and cheese fries from Casey’s. That said, the ordering process is so a** backwards it’s almost not worth it.

Sleepy Hollow: We split the spicy chicken waffle for lunch one day and split the ham and cheese omelet waffle another day. Both were bangin’.

Pecos Bill's Our favorite CS didn’t disappoint. I had the chicken sandwich, DH had the cheese burger and we both had ALL the toppings on everything!

Columbia Harbor House: DH and I shared the fried shrimp and chicken tender/fish combo meal. It was all surprisingly very good! I’ve had good meals in the past here, but it’s been years and I’d forgotten how solid this place is. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The fish was flaky and delicious.

Catalina Eddie’s: Nothing to write home about, but I’m sure that doesn’t surprise anyone! We just needed sustenance and all the lines were too long!

What we didn’t do:
We cancelled both our 8am early entries for Tusker House and BOG. We also cancelled a dinner our last night at 50’s Prime Time. We’ve been to all of these places before, but I am a little sad we didn’t get to try the BOG breakfast for the first time.

TH was cancelled because it was the morning after our very negative H&V night; so I really wish we’d cancelled H&V and kept TH.

BOG was cancelled because we had a minor cold/respiratory infection hit and we couldn’t face another early morning; we needed to catch up on our sleep.

50’s PT was cancelled because HS was so unbearably crowded and hot we had to escape.

I was able to cancel both breakfasts via the app with no problem or charge. I cancelled 50’s via a phone call the same day; explaining that we weren’t feeling well and had to leave the park. The CM voided the $10pp charge.

Great reviews! I am so excited to try Boathouse next trip!! I have yet to find a moscow mule that wasn't gross except for the ones I have had in Japan. Too bad about Yak & Yeti, it's one of my favs. However I always get the seafood curry. Thank goodness we didn't go to the Jedi Mickey dinner, I cancelled it and we opted for the SW breakfast at the Sci Fi Diner that was outstanding. Sounds like I dodged an expensive bullet :)

Lucky you, girlfriend!!

PS--one thing I forgot to mention:
We found the citrus swirl to be revolting. It tasted like straight from-concentrate frozen OJ with a tiny bit of vanilla soft serve. Why do people like this thing?!

I have never had the citrus swirl, I will avoid it!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for your reviews!

I was agreeing with you up until you said you found the citrus swirl revolting. Now, you're my enemy. ;)

Such a shame you cancelled TH. That's such a fun little place. I hope everyone is feeling better!

thanks for your reviews...we were there at the same time frame I think...we got home lsat Wednesday...Biergarten got rid of some of my favorites..one namely...Potato Leek SOup..and they had cream of asparagus...the fish was definitely different...I scraped off the mustard sauce and it was really good.
I have never gone to Caseys in all the years going to Disney..maybe some time I shall try it...thanks again

Great review! I'm going to have to add the word "Joffrey-fied" to my vocabulary :)

Thanks for your reviews. Looks like we share a love for some of the same places/things to eat.

Agree with ya on the good not great, but how did I miss trader joe's had pork buns ; )
The margaritas were awesome. The food was good but not super memorable (like, I literally can’t remember what I ate now).
I'm right there with ya on the margarita's. The food is good, but the alcohol keeps bringing me back ; )

Ahh, outdoor dining at disney. Who would think it would be such a novelty? Good to hear the food was exceptional, as I'd be there regardless just to get to eat on the water.

I'm with you (and DH) on the bread service. It's a true disney standout, as is just about everything at Sanaa. I always wonder why this place doesn't get more love.
California Grill Dinner:
Exceptional.
Agree, though bad on those parents.

We will be staying there next month and I'm so looking forward to the beignets. Can't beieve they once had Cafe Du Monde coffee and its no more. How new orleans is joffrey's?
Sleepy Hollow: We split the spicy chicken waffle for lunch one day and split the ham and cheese omelet waffle another day. Both were bangin’.
Bangin' indeed
Columbia Harbor House: DH and I shared the fried shrimp and chicken tender/fish combo meal. It was all surprisingly very good! I’ve had good meals in the past here, but it’s been years and I’d forgotten how solid this place is.
We are big fans too. Never done the shrimp, but love the fish and oddly they have a great hummus sandwhich.

Great reviews! We have a H&V F! lunch in October. I'm concerned about it but I keep telling myself that, no matter what, DD loves the characters.

Very good reviews! Thank you. I'm excited about trying the Boathouse on our upcoming November trip!

Every time I read about the bread service at Sanaa I get more excited to try it for the first time- our Sanaa lunch ADR is in 9 days!
Awesome reviews BTW...

I think you will love it! We do! My husband & I had the bread service for the first time last September, 2014, and we loved it so much that we went back a few days later. I have to eat gluten free, and they even had house made gluten free naan. It was so delicious! Best gluten free bread product I've ever eaten. Oh my gosh, I'm craving it right now talking about. The dipping sauces are amazing too. We always got all of them. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. The bread service sounds like my dream meal! I would be happy with just it! My mother needs gluten free so I know it is hard to find gluten free bread that tastes really good. I wonder what Disney uses to make it so good?

I love that you DH had you edit your review of Sanaa to emphasize the bread service and how much he enjoyed the meal. I am going to have to make it a priority to eat there on my next trip!
