I would like to do this on our trip in August...but I can't remember where and when it is...Are they even still doing it? Anyone out there know anything about it...

Just remember to double check with a CM on whether or not it will be happening the day you're there. While tends to happen regularly each day, there are instances where the game will not be played (no piano player, for instance).

We have done it and its very cute and fun. Our experience was that people don't really wait, I don't think most people even know about it! NOw as it starts up more people filter in to participate and watch and it does get more crowded. We just usually get there about 30-45 minutes early for a late lunch and are done more or less about the time it starts.

When my kids were younger they loved it!

It isn't listed on the schedule so its only known by word of mouth.

We tried it in June. Didn't work out so well for us. We were one of the first ones there and had a table, but there were people waiting by the time the characters came out (not a ton though). When the characters came out they didn't even bat an eye or acknowledge DD (4). They picked kids to play that all looked 10 and above, I would actually say one of the players was about 10 and the rest were more like the 12-14 range. DD was pretty disappointed. The characters never even glanced her way or smiled at her even though we were right there. I'd say it was the only real let down experience we had the entire trip. No sour grapes that she didn't get picked to play as you can't expect to be that lucky (although it was kind of sad that there were at least 4 or 5 kids under 10 there and none of them were asked), but at least they could have smiled and waved at the littler kids that were around.

You can confirm it at City Hall but yes, we played at 2:30 at Coke Corner, well the DD's did. :) We had no idea it was going to happen, we were looking at pin books that traders had out on the tables and DD10 (who was 7 I think) ran over and said that "ALICE asked us to play musical chairs with her, can we can we can we can we????" LOL Obviously we said yes and they had a blast! :)

I didn't even think about them picking older kids which would be a bummer for younger kids who want to play but can't.:sad2:

We did this a few times when my kids were about 8 and 10. That was like five years ago. I also went with my nieces one day back in 2008 but they were too shy to play! That day, there were so few people there in the beginning, any kid who wanted could play which was nice. They did several rounds as I recall and each time the numbers grew until the characters did have to pick kids.

The last time my kids did this, they had played charades with that same Alice and Mad Hatter earlier in the day over by Matterhorn and they both remembered my kids which made it even more fun and magical.

This sounds like fun! My Ds will be 6 when we go & wonder if he'll have a chance to play.

We have done this 3 or 4 times since DD was about 5. We have never had any trouble with her getting chosen to play, but we are always there in the off season too.

We caught the end of this "show" when we were there last week. So cute! The characters were really funny. They kept changing the rules. And afterwards we got autographs with Alice, Mad Hatter, Evil Queen and Peter Pan all in under 10 minutes. I don't think a lot of people know about it so it wasn't crowded even though the park was. It's fun to watch even if you don't play.

I wonder if this is what we experienced 6 years ago on DD (and my) first ever trip to DL. It's my second favorite DL memory. DD was walking down the "street" and we saw the Mad Hatter and Alice coming our way. She went to say hello and they each grabbed one of her hands and started sort of skipping along with her to I believe Coke Corner. There was no musical chairs though, they just had like a tea party. It was so much fun, and DD (4 at the time) loved it. I have pics if anyone is interested.

I have never ever seen this at coke corner at 230 at any of my 6 day Disney trips. Unlucky I guess. :(
