Those pictures are from Rt 66 Raceway, Joliet, IL. NHRA ran there but not in 2020 or 2021. Won't either this year, maybe 2023. I have been to the Nationals at Raceway probably 12-15 years, not for past maybe 10 years though. I was there for the first Indy Nationals, 1962 I think. I did race, just street cars at the strip, nothing big, local tracks back in the 60's. Mostly just timing. I did do plenty street racing in the 60's though. Nuts!!! Can't imagine that today! So glad I got to meet Garlits and Muldowney.

My grandson did not fully comprehend the moments.

So amazing!! He’ll get it someday! These people were like Gods in my house! I don’t want to steer this thread too far away, but thanks for sharing your pics with me!!! So cool to see someone on here who appreciates/understands the drag racing life!!
