Anyone hear of this yet? You are entitled to a portion of this settlement if you purchased a CD between 1995 and 2000. It will only be $5-$20 but it's something!

Thanks. Wish you could file more than one claim per person. We probably purchased 100s of CDs during that time period.

I find it odd that they are asking for all that personal info, like birthdate and SS #. Maybe I'm being overcautious, but how do you know this is legit and not an identity theft scam?

snopes.com, it is not a hoax, and "the information is necessary in order to distribute the payment checks and ensure that no one files more than one claim."

Did you note that if more than a cetain number of people do this then no one gets anything to goes to Charity instead??

Saw an article in the Louisville Courier-Journal about this on Saturday. The article was trying to drum up people to sign up because they had only received about 30,000 filers thus far and needed... I forget... a whole bunch!!

I must've spent a year's salary on CDs during this time period!!

Thanks for reminding me to sign up! I had forgotten!

I don't think it's a hoax either - there was an article in our local paper talking about this. A little extra $ would be nice. I did notice what tink2dw pointed out - about the $ going to charities if more than a certain # of people sign up. Guess I'll just take my chances & see what happens.
