Music or Sports??

We have never stayed on-site but thanks to FTP will be staying at a value resort in Sept!! Which would you suggest - music or sports or does it really not matter? Also, will we be happy here? Does it take forever to get to the parks on the bus? We will have a car - should we drive instead and is parking at the parks free if you are a resort guest? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I personally like Music better. It has more of a serene feel to it. It also has great lighting at night that has sort of a cozy, romantic feel to it.

It was the first on-site for us so I guess I'm Bias. Edited to add, we have never had bus problems ever except when leaving the parks at closing the lines are long. Just expect it and you won't be disappointed. Or leave a few minutes prior to closing.

You can't lose no matter which you choose but be forewarned once you stay onsite you never leave!

I would choose Sports for the simple reason that the busses stop there first and then go to Music and then Movies.

I've stayed at both and they're both good, but prefer Music, mainly for theming. Also I think their food court is a little better.

I always use Disney transportation and I love it, the one time we rented a car it stayed in the parking lot until our day at Universal.

yes parking is free at the parks for resort guests.

one way to avoid the full buses at night is to wait a bit after the park closes, this is when you have the herds of people leaving the parks, stop for a drink or snack or shop in the stores. The buses go for an hour or so after the offical park closing, so by hanging back you still get transportation, but not a packed bus

I have stayed at ASMo and ASSports and we both love them! We liked the themeing on both resorts. I don't care for Music themeing. I guess it's theme preference. Advantage of ASSp is that the bus stop there first.

But wherever you stay...you will be happy.

We stayed at Music our last visit - staying in Movies this time which I am excited about. I think you choice depends on who is going - I think most boys love the Sports theming. I would like to check out the Surf pool there this time. We are going a whole week so maybe we'll have more time - last time was a 4 day visit and we hung out at Music's pool.

I found transportation to be very good except as others said when parks close at night but them there is a line for every bus to every resort!!!

The only one I have stayed at is Music which I thought was very nice. As someone else said it was positively serene! I was in Broadway which is all the way in the back so that might have been why it was so quiet but I really liked it. The rooms are nice, very clean, spacious enough. It was a positive experience all around but if I stayed there again I'd probably ask for a building that was closer to everything.

I have visited Sports when a friend of mine was staying there and I thought it was pretty cool too. I'm not a big sports person but I thought it was really cute and like others have said, the busses stop there first. I never used the bus at Music since I was there for less than a day, I just slept there but I did use the bus from Sports several times when I was with my friend and it seemed like it runs very regularly and very smoothly.

It took me about 20 minutes to get from EPCOT to Music but I did stop for gas on the way so it was probably more like 15. Not too bad in my opinion.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of these resorts, I had heard so many awful things about them but I thought they were great! I drove through Movies on my way out and I just adored the theming there! Especially the Toy Story buildings, too cute for words!

One more thing I observed about Music, it seemed like less people were staying there than were staying at Sports or Movies. I don't know if that is always the case but if you aren't a fan of crowded resorts that might be something to consider as well.

MUSIC! It just has a wonderful theme about it, it's much quieter and despite the buses not stopping there first, transportation was never a problem!

I have stayed at all three All Stars and I personally like Music the best. Music seems a little more adult and a little quieter. If you ask my kids they choose Movies, purely because of the theming.

The buses at all three are fantastic and each resort will have it's own bus in the morning. The lines for any resort bus after park closing is long. Even though I have a car I use the buses except when I am traveling to another resort.

All Star Sports! I might be biased but this was our first on-site hotel and we fell in love with the 24/7 magic. The next year we upgraded to a moderate (POR) and while I know a lot of people love it our experience wasn't that great. We had a room that needed to be refurbished badly and so we were disappointed in that and the CM's we ran into were not as friendly as our ASSP stay had been. Again just our experience. This year we decided to go back to ASSP and try that again. LOVED IT! The CM's were great, the room was perfect and we were so happy. I told DH I don't ever want to stay anywhere else again - this place is perfect for us! We were in Home Run Hotel which is a little further from everything but we didn't mind as we had a car. I can't tell you about the bus info other than it's the first stop. We had a car and drove ourselves everywhere. The parking is free so we just prefer to have the car and drive ourselves wherever we want to go. Especially with PS and things, I never time those things right and we would ALWAYS be late if we depended on the buses. Just my $.02 but I would definitely suggest the Sports - we love it!
