You might want to check with the wedding planner to make sure music is ok, I'm getting married in Epcot and you can't have a DJ or iPod or anything, just like, a violinist or the like.

she said it as long as we had a designated mc and paid for the equipment obviously , it wouldnt be a problem. I know at some places they have the ambiance music but we're able to bring an ipod to ak.

Ah ok good! I had planned on an iPod as well, but thats ok.

My music list:

1. Married Life from Up, Seating of G-parents/parents
2. You've Got a Friend in Me, Instrumental, Entering of Groomsmen/Groom
3. Main Title from Little Mermaid, Entering of Bridesmaids/Flowergirl/Ringbearer
4. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Instrumental, Entering of Bride
5. When You Wish Upon a Star, Recessional
6. Ever Ever After, Reception Entrance

Still not sure what songs we will be playing before the ceremony, but they will be Disney songs, and not sure what song to play during the candle lighting ceremony (or if we are even having the candle lighting).

For DJ, so far I only have the first dance, which is Everything I Do (I do it for you) by Bryan Adams.

What we want:
Lots of 80's music (eg Thriller, Escapade by Janet Jackson)
80's hair band music (eg Motley Crue, Bon Jovi)
Summery Songs (eg Hey Soul Sister by Train, Colbie Callait)
A few Disney love songs (eg Beauty and the Beast)
Basically anything like that that will get people up and dancing

What we don't want:
Country music
Line dancing music
Headbanger heavy metal music
Clubby/techno music
Typical cheesy wedding music (YMCA, We Are Family, etc.)
Hardcore hiphop music (eg Lil Wayne)
Disco music

That's all I can think of right now.:dance3:

awesome! my next question is are you/did you mix them... how did you work out a 3 minute song to just walk in a few people? did you let the song finish? my wedding on 5/11 but i started on my wedding playlist now because the music is really important to me and i want it to be as perfect as it can get!
:cool2:

For my processional songs, I'm going to let them all run through the whole way because 1) I have a fairly big bridal party and lots of parents/g-parents and 2) we are thinking about getting the string trio band thing, so I'm not sure how long their songs are (probably the same amount of time) but I think they don't play them any longer than needed. I am cutting the bride's song early though, like when I get to the altar, I just have to figure out a good cutting point, otherwise we'll just be standing there for 2 minutes waiting for the song to end. :lmao:

I've seen on another thread that someone had 1 song for 2 groups of people, like the same song for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, or something like that, because she only had a few people in the bridal party and if she had a different song for each group there would only be a blip of a few seconds of the song, which is pretty pointless and unidentifiable.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I'm also doing an homage to Twilight! One of our must-plays for the DJ is Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine, it's the song they're dancing to in the gazebo in the first one.

All this homage to 'Twilight' is so interesting. I didn't enjoy the films and really felt I must be missing something, so tried the first book. I struggled with that too. So I gave up on it!! Is there something strange about me

I think I have lost my mind. The first time I got married, I had very similar lists to those posted above-- especially the "Do Not Play" lists. I was very adamant about an elegant affair, a restrained DJ, no kids etc.

This is my second wedding and between FH and I, we have four small children. There will be many children in attendance- relatives and friends. I want to have the craziest family get together anyone can remember, this time around. I want a crazy DJ who will get everyone on the dance floor. I want to macarena with my kids, and electric slide and all the other nonsense. I want to be so exhausted from dancing and laughing and general silliness that I collapse at the end of the party.

So here's what I've got so far...

Ceremony:
Guests entrance: Married Life, from UP!
Groom/Kids: ?
Bride/kids Entrance: ?
Our Exit: Ever Ever After- Carrie Underwood

Reception:
Introduction: Welcome- Blind Boys of Alabama (from Brother Bear)
First Dance: Bless the Broken Road- Rascal Flatts
Dance with our kids- You'll Be In My Heart- Phil Collins (from Tarzan)
Dinner Music: Assorted Disney movie tunes
Cake Cutting: ?
Last Dance: Little Wonders- Rob Thomas (from Meet the Robinsons)
