Hi there,

For the longest now I haven't had any ideas/visions when it came to the reception so I'm still stuck when it comes to what type of centerpieces and type of music/entertainment I should have since I won't be having a dance floor.

The reception will be at the Napa Room and it will be less than 40 people so I'd like some type of backround music, was thinking maybe the Classical String Trio but not sure.? I would have went with the I-Pod setup but won't have anyone to take care of that so if anyone can offer some suggestions/reviews or point me to any links with reviews I would be forever grateful. :flower3:

Thanks so much!!

It is my understanding that there is existing background music in California Grill—if you don't have any preference and don't want specific songs, that would be an economical (read: FREE!) choice.

Same thing with the centerpieces—why spend the money if you have no preference? There's no rule that says you have to have centerpieces! If you think the tables will look bare without them, you can always do the cheap alternatives, like glow cylanders, scattered rose petals, a few blooms in a bowl of water. Or what about objects that fit your theme? Or candy? In fact, there's a whole list of (somewhat original) non-floral centerpiece ideas in the back of the latest issue of Brides magazine... :thumbsup2

Thanks so much, I had no idea about that! I just don't want it to be too quiet so any type of background music will do. :rotfl:

Yeah, I def agree-- I'd just like a little bit of color on the tables so I think I might go with the scattered rose petals and especially the blooms in a bowl of water. I loove the glow cylanders but since I'd like to have them at the DP I thought I'd dedicate them just for that. And Thank You for the heads up on the Brides magazine, I'll make sure to browse through that for some more ideas! :)

Big Thanks!! :goodvibes

Glad I could help! I agree—those glow cylinders will have a lot more impact at your DP.

We were married at SBP with our lunch reception at the Napa Room. We had the Key West style guitarist at both locations. I was so busy that I didn't really pay a lot of attention. Some of our guests really seemed to enjoy guessing which songs he was playing. I had picked out a wide variety for him to play.

We just had Mickey confetti on the tables except for the vase my bouquet was in. Our guests were thrilled with the view out the window. Even if I had decorated the table I am not sure they would have noticed.

The food at the Napa Room was delicious and the service was excellent.

Hmm, I'm not sure what a Key West style guitarist sounds like but I'll def take a look on the web for some examples just in case that can be an option for me.

I'm hoping that my guests enjoy the view out the window instead of all the little bits like centerpieces since that is the last thing I was worried about. :rotfl:

Thanks so much about the the food and service review at the Napa Room, I can't wait! :goodvibes
