Ok, we need some help here. At the beginning of a Disney DVD, such as Pirates of the Carribean 3, just as you turn on the DVD, the castle appears and there's some show-tunesy music playing for a few seconds. It's short and sweet. Does anyone know what this tune is from? My friend thinks it's from an old Disney short, but I'm not so sure. Any help would be great. Thanks!

No, it's not When You Wish Upon A Star. That's what it used to be, but they've changed it. It's much shorter now, and familiar, but I still can't place it.

Call me crazy (and most people do) but I always thought that was the same music as Kevin Costner's Robin Hood. Michael Kamen did the score for the movie. If you listen at the beginning of the movie...its the same. Here's the beginning of it....its a few seconds in that you can hear the similarities..

I thought I was the ONLY one who recognized the Robin Hood theme in the beginning, when they play a montage of all the Disney movies. :)

I don't feel so alone anymore. :lovestruc hahaha

Actually, now I wanna watch Robin Hood. Yay! :rotfl:

Don't worry you are not alone! I have Robin Hood on DVD!:thumbsup2
I love the Disney montage! It makes me all excited! :worship:

Yep I recongized it too..lol

I do that though recognize music in trailers and such. Just like in the olympics they used the theme from Brisco County Jr for some of the background music during commercials

Well, that answers the mysterious question of what it was!

Now every time I hear that overture, I'll think of this thread. :happytv:

Side note: Michael Kamen also wrote the music for the HBO series "Band of Brothers" - wonderful, wonderful soundtrack. Not your typical war movie score. Very touching and moving and emotional. I highly recommend giving it a listen.

(And by all means watch the Band of Brothers series if you have never seen it - one of the most amazing things ever put on film of any genre. And if you have a Blu-ray player and do not own the Band of Brothers blu-ray boxed set then shame on you.)

OK, like many of you this montage song was driving me nuts and this forum was the only place that I could get anywhere close to the answer.

If anyone has a newer Disney DVD (not sure when they made the change), but certainly the new Muppet Movie and the latest Pirates of the Caribbean has it.

The montage song is now "Everything at Once" by an artist named "Lenka". It's so catchy that you can't get it out of your head!!

You can listen to a preview here and buy it at your favorite MP3 purchasing place (Amazon, iTunes, Google).

Hope this helps in case somebody else is going as crazy as I was!:3dglasses

P.S. I was trying to post a link to her site but I'm a new member. Sorry, you can google her.

We had just looked that up yesterday after hearing it on the Muppets bluray. It is a catchy little tune.
