When DBF and I were there this weekend we were a little disappointed when we didn't hear our favorite California songs! Has anyone else noticed they are playing elevator music now? :confused3

This may have something to do with 2 things:

1) The Food and wine festival going on in DCA. I am not sure if it is the same as last year, but last year during the F&W festival DCA had all this international/multicultural music playing. My friend who went last year as well said that music changed back to the California Beach boys etc after the festival was over.

2) I heard that down in the new Paradise Park area there is a or going to be a new soundtrack which sounds more like the Rag time music on Main Street in DL.

Yeah, I was a fan too.

I'm really gonna be bummin' though when they change the soundtrack on Screamin', if they haven't already.

Ah... I'd say number one is the reason. It did sound kind of.. multicultural I guess. Multicultural elevator music! It's sad though I love all the songs that have to do with California, they make me realize I'm there and it makes it 20X more enjoyable, if that's even possible. :)

I truly think the best area music Disney had was on Paradise Pier, I was really sad to hear it's going.

Listening to it now! They are getting rid of it!? I'm going to be very sad when I don't hear it anymore. :sad2:

It is still the same, did you hear they were going to change it? I actually like the music but something different would be cool too for that ride! Along with almost every other ride haha. :goodvibes

Agree! I LOVE THIS MUSIC!!! I hope at some point they bring it back. Despite the fact its now called "Paradise Park" they should leave the music as is. Too Fun!

Hopefully when the festival is over they will bring it back! And yeah I don't agree with them that they should change the music. Change is good in some cases but not in others!

No, it has been announced that they were changing the music. It's gone for good, not just for food and wine.

Yeah, it's supposed to be going away too, as part of the re-theming of the ride. Last I heard is it's supposed to feature Disney villians in the future.

I liked the Beach Boys music, but it seemed like they just played 5 songs over and over and over. I heard the new music at Paradise Park and I really liked it. I think the new theme is great. I don't know if they are going to change Screamin anytime soon.

They are getting rid of the Screamin' music!??? Lame! I love that music. It fits perfectly with the ride and the boardwalk area. Anyone know when this stupid change is supposed to happen?

WHAT I Didnt hear about this!!! I actually think that sound track is appropriate.

I noticed the change of music, but assumed that it was because of the Food & Wine festival.

I will miss the "California" music. When was the change made?

I do think they only had a few songs too. But' I'll admit, in all the Disney parks, I knew there was music, but I've only really notice music on PP and in Tomorrowland.

I really like that PP is getting a strong theme. It was not very cohesive before. I can't wait to see it once it's all done.

The music is suppose to be the same kind that Walt had heard when he first arrived in CA. The whole front end is to change with a new theater, the trolley, and other things. My guess is that it will all make sense when the remodel is done.

No more Bob Seger's Hollywood Nights?!!! No more Beach Boys?!!! And the music on Screamin' is CHANGING?!!!

It's not even going to feel like the same park. At all. :sad2:

One thing I'm happy for...No more of Aaron Carters version of "I Want Candy" over and over!! I got so sick of that song after just ONE day. But after all 7 days? I wanted to blow up the speakers lol

Hmm.. this is all a pretty big bummer, but I'll try to tell myself it's just music. It puts the park together for me and I don't like the weird music playing now at all, it's boring! I can only hope that it makes sense when it's all finished! Maybe they are just trying to make the park feel more Disney instead of just an amusement park on a pier. From what I've seen they are adding more characters and so that's going to help a lot. I can't change anything so I just hope they know what they are doing! ;) IMHO, the worst mistake ever made was bringing back Capt EO. :sad2: So I think it can only get better from there! I wonder how long we have to wait until the park is just complete!

Haha! I never heard that being played before, but I would be the same way! :scared1: I love that one song about wearing flowers in your hair... I want to download it so I can think about walking around DCA any day of the week!

My husband and I love the California music played in Sunshine Plaza! I looked all over for the songs after our 2008 trip and found the list of songs they play at http://disneymusicloops.com/

They list all the songs and the order they are played. It's one of my favorite playlists, always takes me back to Sunny CA!
