Mushroom Filet?

So DH LOVES filet and really wants to try Le Cellier.

But, he hates mushrooms. Do you think that he will still like the mushroom filet? Can he get it without the mushroom flavor?

Not sure about Mushroom Flavor, but I know you can order it without mushrooms.

DD loves filet and hates mushroom anything! She is still mourning the loss of the barbecue filet at Le Cellier. When we ate there in August she ordered the mushroom filet with no mushrooms and substituted cream cheese mashed potatoes for the risotto. Basically a plain filet and potato. She said it was awesome.

If you order the filet without the mushrooms, it will just taste like a regular filet. I do not know if they season it (salt, pepper etc) but it won't taste like mushrooms.

I am not a mushroom fan but I love this dish. It is the only thing i will order from Le Cellier

I don't really like mushrooms, but I ordered the filet and asked to have the mashed potatoes instead of the mushroom risotto. I also gave the few mushrooms that were on top to my mom but I'm sure they would have not putted them on if I specifically asked. The filet was the most delicious steak I ever had. Don't let his dislike for mushrooms prevent him from ordering it!!

The risotto does have mushrooms in it as well. It's like a rich, creamy rice.

I had the FIlet last week for lunch It was yummy! I had the cream cheese mashed potatoes instead of risotto. Our server asked if I wanted the mushroom sauce, since I didn't get risotto. I got the sauce mmmmm.....it waas great!

I love mushroom sauce and the flavoring of it. I just usually pick out the mushrooms when I eat things like that. The flavor is fine. I just don't like the texture of mushrooms. Are there lots of little mushrooms in this? I can handle them if they are cut into small pieces. I just don't like the big slimy mushrooms. I know.......I know........I am strange.

Wow, this sounds so awesome!! Just have to get an ADR there in mid Nov. I've been trying and not successful yet, but will keep trying!! Was wondering about the mushrooms for daughter and she will be glad about not having to have the mushrooms on. Also, wondering about the risotto and the creamcheese mashed potatoes that sound wonderful! Have never had risotto, is it really, really good? How about the crm.ch.mashed potatoes? Can anyone compare the two and/or give your opinions on these two things?

I love the Mushroom Risotto and get this Filet every time we go to LeCellier. However, I keep reading about these Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes and they sound so good. I wonder if next time I can get the Filet with both Risotto and Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes.

I had this exact dish, as is, a few weeks ago. I had the filet with the mushroom sauce and the risotto. It was absolutely yummy but it is a HEAVY and very rich meal! I enjoyed eating it (definately couldn't finish it all) but it was a little too heavy to deal with afterwards. I was very grateful for the walk around World Showcase afterwards. Now we had this meal at the end of our vacation (so day 7 of eating 3 meals a day out) and it was at 6:30 after a long HOT day walking around Epcot. So the circumstances under which it was enjoyed definately wasn't the best. I will definately keep the heat and timing of the meal into consideration when planning my next trips ADRs. Just a thought for those of you planning meals.

The mushrooms in the risotto are cut up really small, so you don't get a big bite of mushroom at any time. I can't remember if they put mushroom slices on top - if they did, I just picked them off. It's really good!
