i heard that murphy the dragon, the HUGE dragon that is used during Fantasmic! in Disneyland, collapsed during a preformance.

Does anyone have any videos or pictures of the dragon collapsing?

Clearly I'm way late to the party, but ... I always thought the dragon in Fantasmic was Maleficent in her dragon form ...

It IS in the "story-line," but the physical dragon Animatronic, itself, has been
(unofficially) named, "Murphy."

It's the same thing as saying that the person on stage who is known as "Maleficent," is being played by an actress named, "Molly" (or some such.)

BTW, "Murphy," in this case is short for "Murphy's Law," which states...
"Whatever CAN go wrong, WILL go wrong."

That is exactly what has been the situation for the hapless DL Fantasmic! dragon...
hence the name, "Murphy."

Hee, I knew about its accident-prone-ness, I was a CM the summer that Fantasmic! opened ... in one of its first performances, it sprayed hydraulic fluid across the first several rows ...

I guess I just never thought about whether it had a separate name--of course the yeti does, but she's not a character that already has a name.
