Murphy Beds?

Are the Murphy Beds in some of the new/refurbished studios comfortable? Are they the size of a normal twin bed? Wondering if these would be more comfortable than the sofa bed for my 13 year old son. Thank you!

They are not the size of a normal twin, narrower and slightly shorter but bigger than the bunk beds at the THVs. A number of adults have reported liking them to sleep on. My DH is 5' 11" and he fits on a murphy bed, not much room to spare though.

You could let your DS try and see if he likes it.

The murphy bed is 33" x72". So the 5'11" person had one more inch left.

My daughter slept in the murphy bed at the Polynesian in June and she is 14. She loved it and really loved the Lilo and Stitch graphics. She's a big Stitch fan.

We just got back from BCV and the room had a murphy bed. My daughter is 14(5'7'') and she didn't mind it at all.

Thanks! So I assume this means BCV is getting a soft goods refurb? I looked at this resort as an option for a home resort, but bleh, the rooms, bleh! A refurb could go a long way here. Long over due. We pretty much exclusively stay at YC when not trying out DVC rentals and love it. But I quickly dismissed BCV because of the state of those rooms and the fact the DVC building itself is not on the lake.

Soft goods are things like linens and drapes. Putting in the Murphy beds is a full hard good/soft good refurb. We actually loved the theme of our home resort BCV. It was retro beachy - not modern hotel any city anywhere USA modern. To each their own
