Murphy Beds in DVC Resorts

We visited SSR for one night in January 2023. We had not stayed there since 2018. Our 1 bedroom had these 2 wonderful Murphy beds. A twin and a full. Do all of the DVC resorts have these now instead of the awful pullout couches? We are planning another trip for later this year and want to stay somewhere that has a Murphy bed.

Poly got them after Covid, and they are wonderful. They are putting them in BC right now and just finished BR also. The one in BR was also great. VGF1 always had them, I think.

BW might be getting them in a few months, which would really be great.

All DVC resorts, with likely exceptions of OKW and others with structural issues that won’t accommodate them (e.g. slanted ceilings), will get the Murphy beds replacing sofa beds. Not all will get the twin Murphy under the TV.

These resorts have them: RIV, SSR, Poly, VGF
These resorts are being actively remodeled and are getting them: BRV, BCV
These resorts do not have them yet: OKW, BWV, CCV, BLT, AKV

The BWV refurb starts sometime soon (which may be "Disney soon" aka any time between now and New Year's).

We'd booked a 1-nighter there in early May and got the email alerting us in case we wanted to change plans because of the BWI/BWV refurb.

We took the hint and booked another resort.

No telling when BWV may be done.

Now that completion of the BCV refurb has been pushed back from April to "late fall," there's no telling what has happened to the BWV refurb schedule.

The original VGF1 1 br.s had the sleeper sofa (& I assume the VGF1 studios did too.) In last years refurb of VGF1 they replaced the sleeper sofas w/ the Murphy bed sofas.
I actually found the sofa sleeper at VGF1 to be comfortable, the Murphy bed replacement is also comfortable, unlike the sofa sleepers at AKV which are the worst - I’m hoping they are replaced w/ the Murphy sofas in the next AKV refurb, which I think was due this year, but nothing has been announced & w/ Disney seemingly slowing construction to a snails pace, we’ll be lucky if the refurb happens next year!

It'll be done "on Disney time" which means "whenever they get it done."

Annoying when you'd like to know if your planned dates will be affected, but the only workable strategy is taking your chances it won't happen while you're there or bailing as we did, IMO.

I can tell you the RR murphy beds in the tower rooms are terrible. The mattress is fine its the bed frame is horrible. It squeaks terribly loud when you move. I thought it was just ours until I heard the one in the room next to us
squeaking as well.

The refurbished rooms, at least the 1 bedroom at 448, is very similar to the old look. The newly installed Murphy bed was quite comfortable according to my 7 year old. (She did not like the sofa beds!)

We miss the old hidden mickeys in the carpet (she would count them on previous stays) but the new carpet pattern is lovely.
