I am trying to get some information about the cabins for my MIL. She will be traveling with 2 other adults and 2 children. I thought the cabins would meet their needs as far as number of beds, but I am thinking that my MIL will need to sleep on the murphy bed. However, she has some issues with her back and uses a walker. So my question really is, is the murphy bed comfortable or is more like a futon mattress?;)

The murphy mattresses are regular matresses and VERY comfortable.

My mom thought it was very comfortable. My mom I haven't ever really looked at a futon mattress before, but if I remember correctly, this is a regular mattress. It is a nice level form the floor, so she shouldn't have any trouble getting up, it is much easier than getting up into the bed in the bedroom.

Have they given any consideration to the the AS Music Family Suites.

They have, but all the adults want a "real" bed. thanks for all the info...

I thought it was very comfortable. My kids had no complaints about the beds in the bedroom either, and for them that is surprising

We stayed in the cabins in Nov 2003 and the mattress on the Murphy bed was fine; although I agree with the other poster about considering the value suites or maybe two rooms in the values? Two bathrooms could be a time saver? Although, we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the Fort and it was really quiet and peaceful. Nice to not hear someone stomping around on the floor above you or playing the TV too loud next door.

my husband and I always sleep on the murphy and have no complaints. we love the cabins and would not even consider the value suites. we can suffer with 1 bathroom.1/2 shower in the am (the girls) and the boys shower at night.

They are "real" beds at the AS Music Suites, they just fold out instead of down. They are nothing like the old fashioned pull outs.

We have stayed in the Cabins twice now, once in 03 and once in 07 and we are planning on going back in 09. DH and I have always slept on the Murphy Bed as we wanted to put the kiddies to bed and not disturb them with DH Snorring:scared1: I tend to have back problems on crappy beds and I do just fine with the MB.
