My husband is a big fan of the Muppets...are there any Muppet attractions at DL or DCA? What about in the Downtown Disney or LA area (other than Jim Henson's studio which isn't open for tours)? We did make our own Muppets at the FAO Schwarz in NYC a few years ago but he'd probably do that again (and this time our kid could join in - i was a few weeks pregnant with him at the time!).

There was. It got removed. No muppets any more.

I'm also sad that the Muppets are gone from DCA. At this point, pretty much the only presence the Muppets have in DLR is via merchandise.

What about in the general LA area (we'll have a rental car)? Anything we could do?

No.

You could probably find some filming locations for some of their movies. You could also check to see if any are appearing on any talk shows, but that's rare. Their show was canceled because it was so unpopular and their last movie didn't do that well. There's nothing for them to promote and not a lot of demand for them right now. FAO Schwarz closed all of their stores. The brand name was just sold again, I'm not sure they have any licensing right now, and nowhere to buy licensed products anyway.

There's nothing in Disneyland or in the SoCal area for the Muppets. I'm not sure why Disney removed them. Instead they have yet another theater to pimp a new movie. Not enough that Tough to be a Bug is frequently down. Now we lose the Muppets. We did not see either movie trailer on our one week visit last month. Here in our neck of the woods, we have something called the internet and youtube where we can see trailers. We don't need them at DL.

Yes, the previews are available on-line, but the versions in the parks are usually an extended previews (~10 minutes) and often presented in 3D. So it's not exactly the same preview most folks will find on the internet.

I would describe it as, the trailers are online, but the park versions are previews that include extended scenes and make use of the theaters' effects. The version that shows in the parks are not available online. I like them. Even if I don't like all of the movies, the previews have been really good. Especially Zootopia.

Oddly, they've recently ADDED more Muppets to WDW. Magic Kingdom now has the Muppets doing a couple of shows by the Hall of Presidents. It's excellent, totally loved it.

Checkout the Muppets Youtube channel. The are doing new Pigs in Space shorts!
