Who else saw it?
It was good, not great, but I thought it was pretty solid.
My only complaint is I didn't get enough Muppet action. They followed the main characters around so much that there weren't any Swedish Chef, Pigs in Space or Beaker's Labs bits.
I was also waiting the whole movie for the Electric Mayhem to rock out but they didn't let Animal play the drums till the very end! And when he does he rocks out to Rainbow Connection?!!!!
I'll have to watch the uncut version when it comes out on disc.

First off, Put Spoilers in the thread title for people who don't want to know.

Back on topic. I agree. I wanted more from Animal, I was sad they didn't have a Pigs in Space portion or even sing It's not easy being green!

The best part of the movie was Jim Parsons as Walters Human equivalent. The entire theater was laughing hysterically.

I thought it was great. No, it wasn't the typical random Muppet humor we know and love, but in its own I found it to be fantastic. I didn't even really think about the whole Muppet Humor until now, but there was some of it sprinkled in, like traveling by map, etc. I agree with the Jim Parsons part being the pinnacle of the movie. My big thing was them not having the theme song played the whole way through ever.

My wife and I really like Amy Adams singing. She could hit notes my wife could only dream of!

My family and I enjoyed it. I'd agree that I would have liked to have seen more of the secondary characters as the ultimately the funniest but think it stands on its own as just a good fun movie. I'm really happy that this cast of characters has been introduced to a whole new generation (outside of the limited park experience). Hopefully the movie continues to be successful well into the holiday season and we see more of them in the future - on the screen, in the stores, in the parks.....

I agree with most, I walked away wanting more "muppets" but still enjoyed the movie ("Muppet of a Man" is still stuck in my head). My girls walked away with "Fart shoes! Thpppfffft! Thpppfffft! Thpppfffft!" :rotfl:

I loved it! My friend and I laughed pretty close to non-stop for the first half of the movie. My Dad loved it, too. I thought it was delightful. Looking forward to seeing it a second time. Only thing that would have made it better is if Steve Martin had a cameo in it. Don't know why, but all 3 of us felt he should have been in it.

My only issue was that the Muppet voices weren't quite right sometimes. But, with the loss of Jim Henson and Frank Oz, how can they be? Fozzie is my favorite character and sometimes his voice was spot on, other times it didn't sound like him at all. My friend had the same issue with Kermit (although I didn't notice anything odd about Kermit). But, that's how it is. They still look right and they still sound basically right and they're still tons of fun.

That would have been great. I wish they had a few more old time star cameos as well. It was really good to see Mickey in it though. Funny that I haven't seen his name in any blogs as making a cameo. Maybe they were right to use almost all new stars as it doesn't seem anyone cares about the oldies?
The other thing that I missed was that I'm so used to watching them in 3D at the parks that it felt weird not having a pair of 3D glasses on while I was watching it. :goodvibes

Really?!?

The BEST thing about the movie was it WASN'T in 3D!

I absolutely loved it and giggled through the entire thing. Was that Willie Nelson I saw on the street at the beginning, singing about being 'high' LOL funny!

When a guest host was mentioned we thought it was going to be Steve Martin, so you weren't alone in expecting it, it would've been grand.

I thought it was brilliant! Mostly nailed it. I agree with a few of the minor quibbles. (Put in an Electric Mayhem number instead of the awful "We built this city"" please. My DD loves the soundtrack and I already want to shoot myself every time that song comes on.)

Any Muppet movie will undoubtably have some quibble of "so-and-so wasn't in it enough" this is the problem when you have 50+ characters to get involved. However, being a re-introduction, they needed to focus on Kermit/Piggy/Fozzie/Gonzo and that's what was important. I really thought they did get the tone pretty much spot on, though maybe not quite as vaudeville as the original. No-one yet gave props to 80s-robot who had some of the funniest moments in the movie.

I also so much liked human with muppets 100 times more than "humans and CGI robots".

All I know is I left the theatre wanting more muppets...and I can't say there's been many movie franchises of late that left me feeling that way. (I'm looking at you Jack Sparrow!) Hope they let Segal et. al. continue to shepard the muppets further....

...Anyone else think the muppets should be back on the small screen?

80's robot did have some funny bits and I did enjoy it. However, I didn't understand why it was there? You could have put any muppet in for him and have basically done the same skits. Why introduce a new character when like you said it is hard enough getting face time for the 50+ already there? Just seemed a little out of place to me...
I totally want to see more muppets too! That's why I can't wait for an uncut disc version to come out. They chopped this movie down from 3 hours to half that for the theater release. Better be a good Electric Mayhem and Beaker bit in there!
I would also like to see them come back to the small screen but they've already tried and it didn't work out... :(

But you had Beaker in the Barbershop Quartet doing "Smells Like Teen Spirit". He had the best line: "Mee Mee Mee Mo!" Have you checked out some of the recently released (last 2 years) stuff on the Muppet channel on youtube. Beaker features pretty darn heavily there.

I also am curious as to a 3-hour cut of this movie. I definitely am glad they pared it down - but it might actually get me to buy a movie for the first time in a few years.

I loved the movie! I would love to go see it again before it leaves theaters. The one thing I missed was seeing Bean Bunny! Bean is my favorite muppet, I named my bunny rabbit after him! :goodvibes

I loved it and I want to see it again and I want to buy it when it comes out on DVD. My kids had only a vague idea of who the muppets are and they loved it. I'm hoping it's successful enough they will try bringing back the old show. I remember they tried the Muppets tonight but they stepped away from their original Muppet Show formula and tried introducing all these new characters and it just wasn't as good as the original show. This movie was great because it brought back so many things I loved about the Muppet show.

I think We should all assume we will never get back the Muppet Show. I think we should all hope for More in the parks and Maybe a New show. I don't expect more than that even if it makes more money than Avatar the -anger in voice- Highest Grossing film of all Time :sad2::sick:
